DENVER -- If you're looking to drive down any side street in Denver, don't be surprised if you findthe roadway blocked by a fallen tree caused by Wednesday's sudden storm.

On Pennsylvania Street, between 1st and 2nd avenues, a large maple tree can be found on lying ontop of a Toyota Tundra -- the backside of which suffered damage.

The tree snapped in half, forcing the city to put up caution tape on both sides as it now stretchesfrom one side of the street to the other. No one was injured, and the street remains closed.

"The webpage comes up, which is your homepage, and I clicked on it, and actually it was an articleyou guys had just put up," said Chad Reader, who owns the tree. "There was a little 4x4 pictureattached to it. I clicked on the picture. I'm like, 'those two evergreen bushes sure look like mine. That truck does look familiar.' I drove up in and noticed that the tree was lined across it."

The truck the tree landed on belongs to his neighbor.

"Oh, actually he's been great. He's like, 'Well, you couldn't have done anything about it,'" Readersaid. "He wasn't here either, and so when he came home, he was just like, 'Wow. Wow.'"

At East 23rd Avenue and Galena Street in Aurora, large branches had been snapped off trees. Thebranches, along with with sticks and leaves, have been pushed out of the roadway and closer to thesidewalk.

But on Locust Street near East 8th Avenue, a massive pine tree fell on a family SUV, ripped at theroots.

"It was scary. It was super scary, and I was mainly worried about the kids and my husband, who wasdriving home," said car-owner Gray Blountbush. "I was born and raised in Denver, and I've neverseen anything like this."

For Aurora residents, the city is offering a free tree debris drop-off site at Lowry Park for debris thathas fallen on private property. The site will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through July 3.

The park is located at 1001 North Dayton St. in Denver.

As for tree owners in Denver, they are required to remove the trees themselves, using privateservices.

Reader said the service will cost him more than $200 an hour: "I'm not an ax man by any stretch ofthe imagination, but this is probably a couple hours, maybe three."

"Mother Nature's going to win these wars every time, so there's not much we can do about it," headded. "Yup. Mother Nature won."
