Storm at sea
Thud, thudthud, thud,Thudthud, thud, thud,I hear the coconuts,Crushed like coffee granules,I hide in fear.Waiting for the hail stone,Big as a mansion,Coming to finish me off.
I see the lightning,Coming to end me,Shock me like a criminal in a chair,Leave me as a smouldering mess,I cannot wait in the treesFor a stray coconut may be blown about at anytime,Pushed by the angry bully wind.
I taste my fear while waiting,Wishing for the wings,Heralding the arrival of a jollyboat,Come to whisk me back,Back to the frigate from which I fell fromJust last week, but NO!A stray hail stone hasSmashed me on my head.I have bitten my tongue,And the salt taste of sea isMixed with the metallic taste of blood,Fighting for dominance.I fall, close my eyes-Never to open them again.
