StoryWorks has been established to support organisations interested in gathering people’s stories and using them to improve their services. We offertraining and consultancy in all areas of narrative and storytelling research and practice.

StoryWorks is a collaboration between the faculties of Health, Sport & Science and Creative& Cultural Industries at the University of Glamorgan. This enables us to draw on a wide rangeof expertise, especially that of the StoryWorks management team - each of whom is a senioracademic with substantial credentials in the fields of storytelling or health and social care.

Karen Lewis leads StoryWorks, working alongside a diverse team of skilled Associates, drawn from the fields of storytelling, health, lifelong learning, drama, social care and digital media.

Who are we?

storyworks 5 booklet 120 final 28/4/09 11:24 Page 4

All our work is underpinned by a genuine respect for the stories and the storytellers with whom we work.

There is still much work to be done to establish the most effective ways tocollect, analyse, present and use stories in different contexts and with differentaudiences. We are keen to explore new applications for stories, and new waysof drawing out their full value.

As a matter of routine, we evaluate what we do and feed that learning backinto our work.
