Proposal

CONTENT

!   The animation, is about two play doh characters that are blobs in an art room.

!   One of them is good Bob and he's green and he wants to try and be friends with the other play doh blob called Bert and he's red but he's bad and he's really horrible to bob.

!   He bullies Bob and takes advantage of Bob trying to be his friend so Bert treats Bob like a slave and gets him to do all these things for him. So a fight erupts between the two characters that ends up fairly violent.

!   For the setting we will use objects like colouring pens and pencils to make up the background. In the background, we will also have the characters houses made out of play doh or plasticine. The equipment use in the background will be the objects they use to fight each other.

STOP MOTION TECHNIQUE

!   Our animation will be a Claymation Technique however, we will also some stop motion with objects like pencils and paint brushes. We are using 2 different types of animation is because we want the Claymation characters to interact with real objects.  We will use a combination of plasticine and play doh to make the animated characters and to make their houses. We will use objects like colouring pens and pencils to make up the background.

!   We plan to make the animation about 45 seconds long because its only a quick sketch for a adult comedy sketch show.

!   We want our animation to look quite smooth and realistic even though its only for little children. We don’t want it to be slightly jump like in object animation where the objects tend to jump around a bit. We are aiming for about 14 or 15 frames per second. 

AUDIENCE

!   The target audience was originally aimed at children between the ages of 3 to 6 years old. However after producing test footage, we found that the story worked better when the character were violent towards each other and therefore we are having an teen and adult target audience. We want our animation to be shown s part of a comedy sketch show.

!   The reason it is aimed at adults because it is slightly violent, but funny to see this type of format, voice over, the characters silly voices and the fact that is Claymation that is usually associated with children’s programming, being violent.

INSPIRATION

!   The inspiration for our animation came from Morph. Morph inspired us through its use of location and the persona of the characters.
