A NOTE FROM OUR PTA PRESIDENT
We hope all our families had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. It is almost impossible to believe that another year is coming to an end. As we look toward 2019, I want to thank you for your support of our school and our PTA. We have had a wonderful first half of our school year – a successful fundraiser, a huge growth in membership (465 members, with 100% of our staff!), a great literacy night/book fair and numerous spirit nights, celebrating our students at Kentucky Kids Day, Walk to School Day, and Champs night, many fun popcorn Fridays, and a variety of service projects to give back to our community. In addition, we have had many students involved in the Reflections Program, as well as the Science Fair. And we are certainly bringing in those BoxTops for Education (we are #1 in our area, whoo hoo!!) It is an exciting year to be a Stonewall Stallion!
And we have SO many more activities ahead! If you haven’t had a chance to experience or vol-unteer for events thus far, no problem – we have many opportunities in 2019. We will have our annual movie night in January, Love for the Arts night in February, Stonewall Talent Show in March, Science Night in April, Field Day in May and many other activities throughout the coming months. Our greatest need right now is a coordinator for Arts Night in February. If you would like to volunteer for the remainder of the year, please email your contact info to [email protected] or to [email protected]. We send out vol-unteer sign ups in many ways – via email, Facebook and the Remind app. As an extra incentive, any time you volunteer for a PTA event, you will have your name placed in a drawing for a gift card (drawings to be done monthly). No amount of help is too small -it is a great way to get in-volved with our school community!
On behalf of the Stonewall PTA, I would like to wish all of you a joyful holiday season and a relaxing winter break.
Happy New Year!
Amy Recktenwald
PTA President

BOX TOP NEWS!
We’ve now collected more than 14,000 Box Tops since August!!!!
Mrs. Corman’s 2nd grade once again class had the most Box Tops for the month with 291. Mrs. Albrecht’s 4th grade class was a close second with 270, and Mrs. Pergram’s 4th grade class was in third place.
During November we had another “Who Rules the School -Boys or Girls?” collection con-test, and the Girls won with 1,719 Box Tops. The Boys ended with 1,250 Box Tops. Great work this month!
The staff contest prize to be awarded the day before Winter Break is a BHG Restaurants Complimentary Dinner for Two.
If you do any shopping for baking or cooking supplies, be sure to watch for and save your Box Tops. But don’t save them for a long time, since they do expire and we can’t earn money for those expired.
THANKS SO MUCH!

PTA MEMBERSHIP NEWS
HOORAY for the STONEWALL PTA! We currently have 465 members representing the
Stonewall PTA. We are very excited to announce that we have 100% of Faculty and Staff
joined as members of the PTA. The students at Stonewall have a lot of people rallying
behind them. The winners of the last PTA membership drive was a tie between
Mrs. Salyer, Mrs. Marcum, and Mr. Piercey’s classrooms. They will celebrate with some
new recess toys and pizza parties!
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has joined the PTA!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Stonewall PTA has a wonderful tradition of holding a Love for the Arts Night every February. This event is a great way for students and families to experience art in ALL it’s forms, as we have community members perform and instruct in the areas of music, dance, visual art, creative writ-ing, and drama. Our former coordinator is no longer a parent at our school (as her kids have gone on to middle school), so we NEED a person or a group of 2 or 3 to step up and help plan this event. Duties include scheduling a variety of artists and working with the school administrators and Ms. Worley, the art teacher, to organize the layout of the evening. No experience is required – just a willingness to help! We appreciate your consideration – we do not want to lose this valu-able program! Contact [email protected] for more detailed information.
