Duo Technology = Fewer Infringements. Fact.

Our Duo technology, first introduced in the SE5000 Exakt Duo in 2012, supports drivers’ decisions with real-time driving and rest time updates, helping them avoid costly infringements every time they take to the road. It’s been on the market for two years and we can now say with certainty that hauliers across Europe have been enjoying a significant reductions in their infringements thanks to our Duo technology.

We examined data from 108 drivers over 90 days of similar driving time with and without Duo technology, finding a 60% reduction in total infringements. Conclusive evidence that introducing our Duo technology helps lower fleet infringements. And it’s these real reductions in infringements that can make a real difference to fleets. The Duo technology in our latest tachograph, the SE5000 Exakt Duo2, helps keep

fleets compliant, fines down and working days hassle-free.

The drivers we reviewed were able to reduce their 4.5 hour driving infringements by 67% with the help of our Duo technology – with other significant improvements across the most common infringements.

The biggest benefit of lowering infringements is of course avoiding costly fines. It’s easy for penalties to pile up over time and cost fleets valuable capital. But, with the significant reductions possible with the help of the SE5000 Exakt Duo2, fleets can cut these avoidable costs right down.

Infringements can also make fleets a target for the authorities, increasing the likelihood of their drivers being stopped, slowing down the fleet and losing valuable time. However, by

introducing the Duo technology in the Exakt Duo2, fleets will be able to keep infringements at a minimum and their vehicles will be less likely to be stopped by authorities.

Optimo Software Has Been Updated—v2.4 is Now Released

We are happy to announce the release of the latest version of the Optimo workshop tool, ver. 2.4. The update contains a feature workshops have previously asked us for, a new application to allow users to configure 1381s for specific vehicle types. This is in addition to the SE5000 Configuration system already on the tool and removes the need for extra tools or equipment when configuring a tacho. Optimo is the only tool your workshops need to maximise efficiency, coming with key features such as Wireless Programming / Calibration, and handy apps such as Tacho Swap.

Customers are advised to keep their Optimo up to date with the latest software and can benefit from this new feature through a chargeable upgrade. To upgrade your customers you simply need to contact us with the serial numbers of the Optimos that need to be upgraded with the 1381 Configuration system. Once the unit is upgraded with the version 2.4 software and your order is confirmed, you will get an activation key unique to each Optimo. The technician will then need to enter this key into his Optimo and the 1381 Configuration system will be enabled. The updated Optimo continues to be available in 17 languages - English, French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, German, Dutch, Russian, Turkish,

Czech, Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Romanian. To help you in marketing the Optimo to your customers we have put together an editable Marketing template, showing the key benefits of the product and space for you to include your contact details and pricing. As it was previously communicated, Stoneridge SE5000 digital tachograph is now default in all DAF vehicles types and all European markets and Turkey. This change came into effect in July 2014 and all DAF EU, Swiss and Turkish dealers now see the Stoneridge SE5000 digital tachograph as a base offering in the commercial specifications with VDO as an option. And from Week 1 2015 DAF switched

from the SE5000 Exakt Duo (rev7.4) to SE5000 Exakt Duo2 (rev7.5) in XF & CF models. We are now happy to announce that as of end of March 2015 LH models are also produced with SE5000 Exakt Duo2 (rev7.5), bringing more features and benefits to all DAF drivers.

The SE5000 Exakt Duo² is our smartest One Minute Rule tachograph yet. In addition to the existing benefits such as the “One Minute Rule” and real-time updates and countdowns on drive and rest times, it has a wealth of new features. Fleets will be pleased

to see Working Time Directive (WTD) calculations that have been added as a new warning screen in the Duo technology.

In addition, Fleets can also now set how POA (Period of Availability) should be counted as SE5000 Exakt Duo2 comes with an improved POA setting. And finally, a range of other h a n d y f e a t u r e s , d e v i se d i n collaboration with fleets, drivers and workshops, mean that customers can benefit today from the new SE5000 Exakt Duo2.

Trucks with SE5000 sold at MAN in 2014

In January 2015 Stoneridge exhibited at the Truck and Transport show, an international biannual exhibition held at the Brussels Expo in Belgium. This year’s show set a new record in attendance figures which were

considerably higher than initially projected with 33,214 visitors. Organisers noted that due to lowering fuel prices , transport operators feel there are less financial constraints and are more open to buying and

investment opportunities, regardless of the size of the fleet. They also noted a posit ive and lively atmosphere throughout.

Stoneridge attendance was organised in close co-operation with our Belgian importer Phelect who contributed to financing the event, attended the show and also manned the stand. We had a 26.25sqm corner stand (5m x 5.35m) which although isn’t our biggest stand, looked very appealing and attracted a respectable volume of traffic. The latest Duo2 branding was used for the wall graphics to promote the rev 7.5 digital tachograph and its features and benefits, while also showcasing the digiDL remote download and OPTAC tool.

Overall, the show was deemed a success and Phelect collected a good number of formal leads and enquires to follow up.

On March 19th-21st our German

Sales Team took part in the MAN

Trucknology Days event at MAN

premises in Munich. This is an

event organised by MAN where

they invite their customers and

dealers to come along and test the

latest developments in their

vehicles and get an opportunity to

meet body & parts suppliers.

Stoneridge has participated in this

event since 2007 with our SE5000

digital tachographs.

The event takes place in the Truck

Forum (an MAN events building

where customers can also pick up

their new vehicles) and at the Test

Track. The Truck Forum mainly

included MAN stands and a

handful of supplier stands. The

Test Track, where visitors get an

opportunity to drive different

configurations and types of MAN

trucks, also had a marquee with a

number of supplier stands. This

year Stoneridge opted for a

marquee stand.

This year the event was also

extended to a three day show to

give more time to international

customers to visit the event.

MAN sent out about 6,000

invitations to their customers to

make sure it was a well attended

event. Stoneridge stand was

visited by a good number of fleets,

drivers, driver trainers and

authorities, as well as journalists

who were interested in more

information about our products.

The overall feeling was that our

SE5000 digital tachographs are

receiving more and more interest

from the audience; there were a

lot of visitors on the stand who had

heard about Stoneridge and

wanted to find out more about our

products. We were pleased to see

their positive attitude and good

interest after a short presentation

of the SE5000 Exakt Duo2 features

and benefits.

promotion on the stand and giving

away three tachograph packages,

including an SE5000 Exakt Duo2,

OPTAC3 software, a Tacho Link

dongle, an Android phone and a

SmartWatch. This lovely device

runs our free Duo Mobile app, so

drivers can get all the useful App

information on their wrist as well

as vibration alerts when they need

a break. The very latest technology

can also help to keep drivers legal.
