SIZES

StonePly can be produced in a variety of shapes and sizes. Most granites, marbles and limestones are available in panel sizes up to 4’ by 8’. Some stone are limited by the size of quarry blocks available.The typical thickness for the facing stone is ¼” reinforced with 1/2” or 3/4” honeycomb composite backing for a total panel thickness of 3/4” or 1”.

Installation Because of its low weight, StonePly is simple to work with and easy to install. Carpenters, mill workers, stone setters, glaziers, and handymen can handle the installation. Stoneply can be installed using an easy locking Z-clip system, concealed interlocking channels, concealed screws, or structural silicone adhesive.

Stoneply manufacturing process:1.) From the architect’s drawing, Stoneply generates dimesions for parts.2.) After shop drawing are approved, the stones are attached to the required backing.3.) Stone panel are processed with finishes, textures, or custom tooling that may be required.3.) Stoneply Panels are sent to fabriction to be cut to specificatons.4.) Parts are packaged for shipment to the jobsite.

StonePly can be easily cut or trimmed using a diamond blade masonry saw.

StonePly can be cut to a variety of angles and shapes. And due to its light wieght it can be attached to overhangs, soffits, and curving walls.

Stone panels should be stored in a clean, dry area. The natural stone facing can be chipped at the edges and softer stones can be scratched. Limestone, marble, travertine, and other softer stones can be stained by dirt, mud, or construction materials.

Installers should be craftsmen with construction experience. Installers should read the instructions and follow all OSHA and other safety requirements.

After construction, final wash may be needed. Do not use acids or brick cleaners. The most common stain from construction is dirt. Dirt can be removed from most stones by scrubbing with a mild detergent and water.

StonePly real stone and aluminum honeycomb panels are inherently flame resistant. Composed of non combustible stone, non combustible aluminum and a very small amount of aviation epoxy adhesive. StonePly stone panels have an ASTM E-84 Flame spread index of 0 and a smoke contribution of 5. The “smoke contribution” is primarily water vapor and can vary by stone type. This gives StonePly a Class A per the NFPA

StonePly stone panels will not allow moisture to pass through them. The aluminum backing provides a continuous solid barrier behind each panel. This helps keep moisture out of the building.

StonePly stone panels can withstand a category 5 hurricane.

StonePly panels’ light weight reduce a building’s weight load and the risk of panels detacting from the building.

Absorption - Freeze/Thaw 100 cycles. No delamination or failure.

ASTM E 1886-05 Cyclic Pressure Loading To test repeated positive and negative loads, over 4,500 positive and negative pressure cycles were applied at ±70 psf.

Floors: StonePly honeycomb is not meant for floor use. ( See StonePly ACM )

Freeze Thaw: Freeze thaw resistances may vary by stone type selected.

AVAILABILITY AND PRODUCTION CAPACITY

Lead times depend on the size and complexity of the job, client schedule, and availability of the raw stone quarry blocks. Normally products ship 9 to 12 weeks from drawing approvals, but large or complex orders can take longer. It is best to order as early as possible. Expediting fees and rush delivery charges may apply.
