General InformationOur factories are based in Hampshire and West Sussex, we also have close contact with partner companies in Portugal, Italy, Spain and France. All designs are manufactured in accordance with BS1251 and current legislation, but please note designs may be subject to change without notice in accordance with current regulations.

Our fireplaces are manufactured using high quality solid timber, natural and conglomerate marble, slate, limestone, granite, mild and stainless steel.

Conglomerate marble and stainless steel are only suitable for use with gas or electric fires. All other materials can be used with all fuel types.

A Natural ProductPlease remember that marble is a natural product and your new fireplace will not exactly match the sample or display you see in the fireplace shop. Just like timber each piece of marble will have its own distinct marks and veins. This is its beauty, if you prefer a material which has almost no variation then we would ask you to choose from the conglomerate marble which is a mixture of crushed marble and resin.

Appliances shown in the fireplaces contained within these pages are not necessarily manufactured or sold by us, and are intended for illustration only. Your stockist will be happy to advise on appliances to suit your fireplace. We regret we are unable to accept responsibility for materials or products featured in this brochure being unavailable at your time of selection. In the case of natural marble we are restricted by forces of nature and some materials may not be available all year round.

FittingSince April 2002 it has been a legal requirement that your fireplace is installed by a competent person as described in the Building regulations part J. All of our stockists meet the requirements of the competent person rule. Should you wish to install your chosen design yourself you will need to obtain building permission from your local council. You can find out more by contacting your local building control officer.

Please noteUnguarded fires can burn; a suitable fireguard should be used if children or elderly people are to be left unattended in a room with a lit fire. A Carbon Monoxide detector must be fitted with all solid fuel applications.

Additional InformationAccessoriesWe offer a range of stone and marble maintenance products to ensure your fireplace stays in perfect condition speak to your stockist for more details

WoodWood FinishWhite Primed for finishing on sitePine Honey wax, standard or antiqueMahogany Standard reproduction, or lightOak Golden, light, medium, dark or limedMaple Clear lacquer or blondeBeech Clear lacquerAlder Clear lacquer, teak or yewCherry Clear lacquer, warm

In addition we are able to provide a colour matching service to a sample supplied, or as close as can be achieved using natural timber and stain. Alternatively we can paint to any British Standard colour on our white primed mantels.

White mantelpieces are manufactured from solid timber and are supplied primed white, for you to paint on site. Due to movement in the timber cracks may appear in the paint finish that correspond with joints in the mantelpiece. This is perfectly normal and can be rectified when the mantel is next decorated.

The majority of embellishments on mantelpieces are hand carved, although a small number have resin alternatives. However all designs can be supplied with real carvings if required. Most white or painted mantels will be supplied with resin embellishments. Oak mantels have Chestnut carvings as Oak is too hard to work in fine detail.

MarbleMost designs can be manufactured in any of the marble, limestone, conglomerate, granite or slate we carry in stock. We may also be able to obtain other materials to order. Ask your stockist for more information. Due to variations in natural products your fireplace may differ from that of the sample or display example seen. If required you can arrange to visit the factory and select your marble. Your stockist will provide more details about this service.

StoneOur collection of stone fireplaces are manufactured in a choice of either smooth or textured natural limestone. Your local stockist will be pleased to show you examples of the different limestones. We regret that due to the manufacturing process we may not be able to offer our normal bespoke service on all of the designs in this range.

MetalAll metal products are manufactured from either mild steel or stainless steels and are supplied with a protective oil-based coating on the polished surfaces. During the installation process this can sometimes be removed so it is very important that a spray-type protective coat of oil or WD40 is applied after installation and before the product is used. Under no circumstances should a water based cleaner or polish be used to clean metal products as this will lead to the appearance of surface rust.
