Granite
Granite is an excellent natural material ideal for countertops, floors, wall claddings, and other high traffic areas in residential and commercial spaces.
It is a timeless beauty that no man-made sur-face can match. The natural appeal of stone adds warmth, elegance, and richness to any room.
Slabs are available in a wide array of colors and textures, from light to dark, with swirls, accents, or fluid tones. This makes each piece of slab one of a kind.
The advantages of installing granite, however, goes beyond aesthetics.
A highly-durable natural stone, granite is hard enough to resist abrasion, strong enough to bear significant weight, and inert enough toresist weathering.
Some synthetic surfaces scratch easily. Gran-ite, on the other hand, surpasses the hardness of utensils, including knife blades, that are used on it. It will resist scratches from ordinary kitch-en preparations.
Since it is naturally formed through the con-stant pressure deep within earth, granite can withstand the heat of hot pots and pans with-out absorbing damage. Thus, it is much safer to use than its synthetic counterparts with resin and polyester because it does not melt, warp, or discolor when subjected to high temperature.

Marble comes in hues of milky white, choco-late brown, coal-black, salmon pink, and emer-ald green, most having prominent veins while others with subtle patterns.

Like a white button-down shirt, it is adaptable; mixing well with different styles and a wide variety of mate-rials such as stainless steel, wood, and tile. It can be dressed up with a polished finish, or made more casual with a honed surface.

Marble’s crystalline structure makes it suscep-tible to stains and sensitive to acidic solutions. It requires a periodic application of sealer for protection. Moreover, it can scratch easily so it is recommended that you use a cutting board during kitchen preparations.
This does not mean, however, that you shouldn’t consider marble for your kitchen. Many cus-tomers do. It just means taking a little more care of your countertop in every use.

c. Flamed- deeply textured surface ideal for outdoor applications needing slip resistance; d. Bush hammered- deeply textured, as well, but provides a more consistent feel than its torched counterpart.
