by Richard Horton March is here and soon nature will beshaking off the signs of winter.The grasswillgrowgreen,theBluebonnetswillcoverthefields,andtheLiveOakswilldroptheirwinter leaves. In just a fewweeks, itwillAprilandwewillreopentheStoneCanyonpoolforthe2010season.Ifyouhavebeenbythe"SwimCenter"thesepastfewweeks,youalreadyknowthatwehaveinvestedinrenovatingthepoolthisoff-season.Bythetimeyoureadthis,thepoolshouldbeopenandlookingasgoodasnew. Also, please remember that the AnnualMeeting for the Stone Canyon Owner’sAssociationwillbeheldWednesday,April7,2010,attheFernBluffMUDCommunityCenterat6:00PM.Ifyoucannotattend,please send in your signed proxy form,whichyouwillbereceivingfromGoodwinManagementlaterthismonth.

How-Do Neighbors, I'llbetsomeofyouwerewonderingwhathappenedtoGreg'scheery,yetwaytoolongnewsletterarticles?I'llbetsomeothersofyouwererelievednottoseethemforacoupleofmonths.Well,I'mback!!WeonthePoolCommittee,Board,propertymanagement,andpoolmanagementcompanieshavebeenuptoafewthings.We'reintheprocessofrenovatingthepoolbottom(YAY!!),thecopingstonesaroundthepool(YAY!!!),theoutdoorshower(YIPEE!),thepumproomdoorandframeandtheinteriorsofbothrestroomsatthepool(BIGYAYANDAYAHOO!!!!!!!).We'vebeenwantingtomaketheserenovationsforsometimenow,andthisyearit'sunderway.Theseprojectswilladdressalotoftheconcerns/complaintswehaveheardaboutthepoolarea,sowe'reprettyexcitedtogetthesegoing. Whatexactlyisbeingdone?Let'sbreakitdown:POOL:-replacecopingstones(thosecementblocksallaroundthepoolatthewater'sedge)-replacetheplasterbottomofthepool(it'sdissolvingslowlyovertheyears)-replacethewaterlinetile,depthmarkertile,andracelanetile- patch several of the smaller deck cracks (more on the big deck repairs needed

later)-repairthepoollighttimerswitchRESTROOMS, SHOWER, PUMP ROOM, STORAGE ROOM:-newvanities,lightingfixtures,toilets,stallpartitions,andsinkfixtures- replace shower head, fix broken lines behind the wall, insulate the shower

plumbing-replacethepumproomdoorandframe-paintthestorageroomrooftrusses,addanadditionalCCTVcameraandconduitPICNIC AND DECK AREAS:-adda6ftx6ftpadaroundtheBBQgrill-madefromouroldcopingstones-addasmallwalkwayfromthepermanenttrashcantodeck- replace the tall lifeguard chair with a lower one, similar to the existing shorter

lifeguardchairWewilltrytogeteverythingdonebyourusualApril1openingdate,butdependingontheweather,wemaynot. Ourpoolcompany(FamilySwimGym)isgoingtoapproachtheseprojectsinphases,thefirstandmostimportantoftheseisofcoursethepoolitself,togetitreadyforuseasclosetoApril1,aspossible.FSGhasbentoverbackwardstoaccommodatetheweekendandeveningschedulesofthePoolCommitteeandtheBoard,andIthankthemforthateffortabovebeyondthecallofduty.
