After the briefing, officers went out into the county arrested several suspects. Operation Second Strike was a several months undercover investigation of drug distributors and users in the Stokes County area. Stokes County detectives were assisted on the undercover operation by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and the Surry County Sheriff's Office. A total of 22 suspected drug dealers and users facing 87 criminal charges were part of the Operation Second Strike investigation. Sheriff Mike Marshall advises that Operation Second Strike was a "success". "The arrest of these suspected drug dealers and users should be a sign to all that we will not tolerate drugs in Stokes County. We will work each and every day to keepthe streets of Stokes County as safe and drug free as possible". Sheriff Marshall also states that "with agencies working together, we can make a difference on the drug problem facing us".
