Communion to the Sick Those parishioners who are confined to their home may

request the Sacrament of Holy Communion by calling the

Parish Office.

the Celebration of the Feast of St. Michael’s). We

ask all Parishioners to help make this Raffle a

success by selling tickets - available in the Rectory

ADULT SACRAMENTS Any Adult interested in receiving the Sacraments of Baptism,

Communion and/or Confirmation may register for the

“RCIA” (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) by seeing Mrs.

Inés Cordero at the Office of Faith Formation. The Office of

Faith Formation is located in the Pope Francis Parish Center

(345 43rd Street). For more information, please call Mrs.

during the first week of October. You can also call the Rectory

REMEMBERING

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

We will remember the victims and heroes of the

terrorist attacks on our city and country of

September 11, 2001. We invite all local Firefighters and

Police Officers to join us at either of our Masses on:

Wednesday, September 11th, 2019

Both the 9am and 7:30pm Masses will be bilingual. At each Mass, we will remember the victims and their

families, as well as those who gave their lives to save others.

If you would like to remember someone who perished on or

in the aftermath of September 11th, please submit their name

to the Rectory Office as soon as possible.

Free English Adult Classes The Fifth Avenue Committee offering FREE English classes. Registration for beginner’s English classes will be held on : Tuesday, September 10th 2019 Time: 9am - 11am Registration for Intermediate and Advanced English classes will be held on: Wednesday, September 11th 2019 Time: 6pm - 8pm Registration will take place at 345 43rd street between 4th and 3rd Avenues. Classes will meet twice a week

NOVENA FOR THE FEAST OF ST. MICHAEL

We will begin our preparations for our Feast Day

FEAST OF ST. MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

All parishioners are invited to come and celebrate St.

Michael’s Feast Day Mass, along with Bishop James

Massa who will be the Celebrant and Preacher. The

Feast Day Mass will be take place on :

Saturday, September 28th at 7:30pm

The mass will be Bilingual

The Carnival for St. Michael will be on Saturday and

Sunday, September 28th and 29th

SECOND COLLECTION Today’s second collection is for The Catholic University

of America, the national university of the Catholic

Church. Through its 12 schools and 23 research centers

located in the nation’s capital, every year the University

provides an education grounded in the Catholic

intellectual tradition to almost 7,000 students. We ask all

parishioners to be as generous as possible. We thank

everyone for their sacrifices and generous support of our

national university!

Do You Know "Mother Cabrini"? St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, also known as "Mother

Cabrini" is the first American Citizen to be Canonized a

Saint. She was born July 15, 1850 in Italy, founded a

Religious Community with 6 other women, the Mission-

ary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and immigrated

to the United States on March 31, 1889. She and her sis-

ters ministered to the immigrant community and founded

67 institutions (hospitals, orphanages, schools) in New

York and other cities throughout the country. Mother

Cabrini died on December 22, 1917. The City of

New York recently held a competition with the goal of

recognizing notable New York women who contributed

to the development of the city. Although St. Frances X.

Cabrini received the most votes in the competition, she

was denied the recognition of a statue in her honor. On

October 6th, Bishop DiMarzio will lead a procession in

honor of Mother Cabrini through the streets she walked

in Brooklyn and celebrate Mass for the intention of all

SEGUNDA COLECTA

La segunda colecta de hoy es para la Universidad Católi-

ca de América, la universidad nacional de la Iglesia

Católica. A través de sus 12 escuelas y 23 centros de

investigación ubicados en la capital del país. Cada año la

Universidad brinda una educación basada en la tradición

intelectual católica a casi 7,000 estudiantes. Pedimos a

todos los feligreses que sean lo más generosos posible.

NOVENA PARA LA FIESTA DE SAN MIGUEL

Comenzaremos nuestros preparativos para nuestro

Día de la Fiesta con una Novena que comenzará

el: Jueves 19 de Septiembre

El horario estará en el Boletín de la próxima

semana.

FIESTA DE ST. MICHAEL EL ARCANGEL

Todos los feligreses están invitados a venir y celebrar

la misa del día de fiesta de San Miguel, junto con el

obispo James Massa, quien será el celebrante y el

predicador. La misa del día de la fiesta se llevará a

cabo el: Sábado 28 de septiembre a las

7:30p.m. La misa será bilingüe.

El Carnaval de San Miguel será el sábado y domingo

28 y 29 de septiembre.

¿Conoce a "Madre Cabrini"? St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, también conocida como

"Madre Cabrini" es el primer ciudadano estadounidense

en ser canonizado como santo. Nació el 15 de julio de

1850 en Italia, fundó una Comunidad Religiosa con otras

6 mujeres, las Hermanas Misioneras del Sagrado

Corazón de Jesús e emigró a los Estados Unidos el 31 de

marzo de 1889. Ella y sus hermanas ministraron en la

comunidad inmigrante y fundó 67 instituciones

(hospitales, orfanatos, escuelas) en Nueva York y otras

ciudades de todo el país. Madre Cabrini murió el 22

de diciembre de 1917. La ciudad de Nueva York

recientemente celebró una competencia con el objetivo
