that slowly become apparent, one thread at a time, over thousands of years.

We have been printing. Mixing our pigments, cutting our blocks, stretching our

screens, transferring the products of our imaginations onto cotton and linen and silk.

We have been stitching. Needle and thread in hand, thimbles at the ready, beads

sorted in piles, we embroider and embellish.
