Stewards spoke to the winning trainer regarding his greyhound’s sharp form improvement. Mr Obrien advised Stewards that ZINNIA FIRE( 4 ) was having only it’s third start for him today, and felt the greyhound had a preference for the grass surface as opposed to the loam which it had been racing on recently. Whilst somewhat surprised with the run today, Mr Obrien further stated that the greyhound had trialled well at Kempsey in preparation for today’s race, and felt the greyhound would be more competitive. Mr Obrien indicated that he had only marginally supported ZINNIA FIRE( 4 ). Stewards noted Mr Obrien’s remarks, however notwithstanding had the greyhound secured away with a urine sample to be obtained due to the improved performance.
