Assemblyman Stern is always working for Long Island Veterans

In only a few short weeks in the Assembly, Assemblyman Stern already passed legislation to:

• combat veteran homelessness (A.1646-A)

• provide support for service-disabled veterans (A.5931-A)

• improve access to critical information so veterans receive the benefits they deserve (A.11024)

Assemblyman Stern continues his long and proud record of supporting our Veterans and their families. As Chairman of the Veterans Committee of the Suffolk County Legislature, he:

• authored the landmark Housing Our Homeless Heroes Act, leading to an “effective end” to veteran homelessness

• authored the Respect Our Fallen Heroes Act to prevent disrespectful protests at military funerals

• pushed to provide property tax exemptions for veterans and expand medical services at the East End Veterans Clinic
