EZTest® is a self-contained biological indicator formonitoring steam (#BI-1) or ethylene oxide(#EZG/6) sterilization. EZTest® contains bacterial spores on a filter-paper carrier packagedwithinasmall, thermoplasticculture tube. Inside the thermoplasticculture tube isasealed-glassampouleofspecially-formulatedsoybeancaseindigestculturemediumcontaining acolorindicatorwhichturnsadramaticyellowwhensporesgrow.EZTest®iseasy-to-useandproducesvisualresultswithin48hourswithoutlaboratorytransfers.SimplyplaceEZTest®insideproductsorproductpackagestobesterilized.The “inoculatedpackage” is thenplaced in thesterilizerandprocessed.Uponremovalfromthesterilizer, theEZTest®BI is“activated.” Usinga

crushingdevice,flex thesidesof thesoftplasticculture tube tobreak theglassampouletoallowthemediumtomixwiththespores.The“activated”EZTest®BIisthenplacedinanappropriateincubator(#I/14)for48hours.Ifanysporessurvivetheprocess,themediumwillturnyellow.
