Program Centre

The Program Centre is responsible for leading centralised program design, management and administration standards for Department programs and initiatives that drive outcomes for Victoria.

Key Accountabilities

Support the administration of grant programs including the processing of financial claims and variations.

Maintain accurate records, including GEMS and other databases.

ssist in producing and updating administration deliverables like project status reports.

Provide logistical support for stakeholder engagement activities, including meeting and event organisation, sending emails and calendar invitations.

Other general support to the members of the Program Centre as required.

Key Selection Criteria

Written Communication: Prepares basic letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; Organises information in a logical sequence; Includes content appropriate for the purpose and audience

Stakeholder engagement: Clearly explains information and is open to feedback; Provides information clearly and concisely and

Computer Skills: Understands the purpose of and is able to use a range of software applications for word processing, email and data analysis. Is open to learning new digital platforms and software.

Problem Solving: Seeks information needed to solve work problems; Identifies and proposes practical solutions to problems;

Teamwork: Cooperates and works collaboratively with others in the pursuit of team goals; Collaborates and shares information;

Detail focus: Observes fine details; Identifies gaps in information; Looks for logical sequences of information; Highlights practical considerations of plans and activities.

The Program Centre works collaboratively across the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions to provide a diverse range of policy areas with with best practice grant program design, implementation and management advice.

The successful candidate may be involved in any of the Program Centre's current projects. These may include:

Compliance and adherence - such as advising on risk and probity requirements for grant programs

Grant capability building - such as leading grant management skills development across the department

Grant program design and implementation - such as program design advice and support of new and revised programs in order to improve administrative efficiencies and policy outcome improvements.

An intern's role will be to support Program Centre staff in achieving these outcomes by:

Ideal Degree/Discipline

Economics, Politics, Law, Project Management, Science or Communications

Eligibility Requirements

Second last or final year of a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree

Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents or International students with full working rights in Australia

Identify as having disability

Candidates may be required to undergo a background check security clearance
