Position Overview
Newman Operations Mobile Maintenance
Newman Operations is currently the largest BHP Iron Ore asset, producing more than 90mt of ore a year for shipment from Port Hedland. The Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) team at Newman Operations is responsible for the maintenance of all mobile equipment across the site. We maintain over 50 trucks and 10 excavators as well as dozers, graders and loaders which are used to load and haul ore. The team consists of approximately 360 people, made up of tradespeople, technicians and professionals. The Reliability Engineering team within MEM are responsible for the analysis and improvement of maintenance to optimise our performance. We provide support where it is required to alleviate some of the issues faced by the front line and their leadership.
This role will be based in Newman Western Australia. Preference would be for the intern to be based residentially in Newman for the period of employment, but this can be negotiated for the right candidate.
