Smile Magazine
First I used DaFont to find the appropriate style of text for my magazine.
I chose these specific fonts because they seem very modern, which would appeal more to students at college.
I then added an image I had taken of Zoe and imported it into Photoshop.
After this I used the magnetic lasso tool to cut out Zoe and then pasted it over the original image, in case I wanted to use a brush in front of the tree and behind Zoe.
I then used different brushes behind the masthead so the cover looked more interesting. I also did this so the reader can read the masthead. I used three distinct colours that I will use in the rest of the magazine.(House Style)
Now I have switched to doing the contents page of my magazine. I took three original images of a camera, Zoe, and Photoshop. In this shot I have started adding them to the page.
I used a brush I downloaded from PSBrushes to add three Polaroids. This consists with the photography theme.
After applying the Polaroid brushes, I then started to add other brushes that I also got from PSBrushes.
These brushes match the same colours on the front page, consisting with the house style.
I have now started adding the Editor’s Letter, this is just to welcome new readers to the magazine.
The font I have used will be the main font used throughout the magazine, but in this case, just the cover and contents page.
I’ve now completed all the writing on the contents page and will be moving on to adding the other images.
I have now added the images and have attempted to merge the images together.
I also added three brushes to go behind the page numbers and to contribute to the house style.
The page numbers are also in the same font as the rest of the contents page.
I’ve now gone back to my cover to add to the left third, using two of the main features.
On the bottom are the cover lines of one article and a free gift.
And on the right is a regular article to fill some empty space.
The font consists with the house style, as the font is used a lot within the contents page and cover page.
