STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONSTO CONNECT CABLE INTERNET MODEM & WI-FI ROUTER

Follow this step-by-step guide to connect both your Wi-Fi Router and Cable Modem.

Modem shipped separately.

IMPORTANT!

Wait until your internet installation/activation date and time, then follow the steps in this guide.

STEP STEP

Connect your Coaxial Cable to the Modem

• Locate the coaxial cable in your home.• Connect it to the cable port,

(located on the back of the modem), using 3 clockwise rotations or until securely fastened.

Power on your Modem

• Plug in the power adapter into the back of the modem.• Connect the other end into the nearest standard power outlet.• The “Power” LED on the front of the modem should be green.

(If your modem has a ‘power’ button, press it to power on the device.) Wait until the “Online” LED is solid green. This may take up to 10 minutes.

Coaxial cable is not included in the box

Note: The DS and US LEDs should also be lit green. If both are

blinking at the same time, your modem is updating its software.

Wait until the update completes.

STEP STEP 4

Connecting your Wi-Fi Router

• Connect the ethernet cable to the modem’s yellow ethernet port.

• Then connect the other end of the ethernet cable to the router’s blue “Internet” port.

Power on your Router

• Plug in the power adapter into the back of the router.• Connect the other end into the nearest power outlet.• Press the ‘Power On/Off’ button.

Verify that the following LEDs are lit solid green. This may take a few minutes.

*If after 3-5 minutes the power and Internet LEDs are solid green and the 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi LEDs are off, press and hold the WPS/Wi-Fi On/Off button for 3-5 seconds then let go. The Wi-Fi LED should now be on.

Connecting your devices to the Wi-Fi Network

• Go into your device’s Wi-Fi settings (or computer’s network icon) and select the SSID (network name).

• Enter your password, printed on the sticker on top of the router.

Congratulations!You’re ready to use your Internet Service!

Method 2: Setup via the TP-Link Tether AppConveniently manage your network from any mobile device.

1. Download the TP-Link Tether app on your smartphone:

1. Connect your device to the router via an Ethernet cable or wirelessly.2. Launch a web browser, enter http://tplinkwifi.net in the address bar,

and log in. 3. Change the router’s settings as needed

To change: Go to:

Wireless network name and password Basic > Wireless

Login password of the web management page

Basic >TP-Link Cloud (if you log in via TP-Link ID)

Advanced >System Tools >Administration (if you log in via the router’s password)

3. Connect the router to the Internet.

• Launch the Tether app. • Select ‘Sign Up’ (blue text on left).• Read and AGREE to the privacy terms.• Create an account by entering your email

address and create a password. (For simplicity, you can use the password found on the top and bottom of your router; or you can create a new one.)

• Select ‘Sign Up’ button.• An email will be sent. Follow the steps to finish

setting up your account.• You can now personalize your Wi-Fi settings.

Helpful Tip! The Tether App is great for managing your Wi-Fi network, while at home or away. You can prioritize devices and control your children’s Internet time.

Personalizing and Managing your Wi-Fi Network

Method 1: Setup via a Web Browser

1. Connect your device to the router (wireless or wired).

Wireless• Locate the SSID and wireless password/PIN on the top

of your router. Click the network icon of your computer or go to Wi-Fi settings of your smartphone, and then select the SSID to join the network.

Wired• Connect your computer to one of the open LAN ports on your

router using an Ethernet cable.If not available, follow the wireless setup above.

2. Connect the router to the Internet.

Launch a web browser on your smartphone/device or on your com-puter and enter tplinkwifi.net or 192.168.0.1 into the address bar.Enter your password (found on the top and bottom of your router).

Follow the instructions to personalize your Wi-Fi settings.
