What is it?

• Simply put Steganography is the act of embedding either a picture or message in another picture or message.

• The word itself means covered writing

What can it be used for

• Steganography can be used to secretly send messages to other people

• It is often used when encryption is not permitted but it is also used to supplement encryption codes.

Are there different types

Yes there are• There are six specific types of coding • LSB• DCT encoding• Spread Spectrum• Phase coding• Tone Insertion Echo Data Hiding

Where the types can be used

• DCT encoding only works on pictures• Phase coding, tone Insertion, and Echo Data

Hiding only work on audio files• LSB and spread Spectrum work on both

however LSB causes the Audio files to have extra sound.

What kinds of programs are out there

• There are thousands of programs out there to aid you in Steganography
