STEP 2: In the dialog boxes located in the upper right of the home screen (pictured below) enter your login credenals and click the blue SIGN IN buon. The AdminMenu will appear at the top of the screen as pictured below. Main menu selecons include: MANAGEMENT and REPORTS. The links below include more informaon on each menu. STAYCAST™ AdminMenu Quick Guide: Hotel Staff User (FOR HOTEL STAFF—PLEASE DO NOT DISTRIBUTE TO GUESTS)

STEP 1: The hotel system engineer will provide you with the STAYCAST Admin Menu web address that is specific to your hotel and configured on the properties computer by your STAYCAST system integrator.

STEP 2: In the dialog boxes located in the upper right of the home screen (pictured below) enter your login credentials and click the blue SIGN IN button.

The AdminMenu will appear at the top of the screen as pictured below.

Main menu selections include: MANAGEMENT and REPORTS.

Cast DevicesFrom the Cast Devices submenu the user is able to search by the hotel’s database of devices based on the device MAC address, name, device IP, room, state, or tv categories. The user is also able to edit the cast device’s name, room, location, and tv categories.

To search, enter the term you would like to search for in the Search term... dialog box and click the green search button. You may narrow your search by selecting a modifier in the Search by and/or Contains drop down menus. You may also click the red cancel button to clear the search, or the yellow help button for useful tips.

To edit, click on the device’s blue edit button and enter your changes in the Edit Cast Device pop up window and click the blue Update Cast Device button. Please note, a device’s MAC address is not editable for the hotel staff user.

NOTE: Each Room is a link that, when clicked, will take the user to a listing of all devices found within that particular room in the Rooms submenu.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Each Chromecast needs to be associated with a room.

• When naming Chromecast devices, a best practice to use would be “Room <number><location>”. Example: for a Chromecast connected to the Bedroom in Room 2048, a good name would be “Room 2048 Bedroom”, or for a Chromecast connected to the Bar of Room 2048, a good name would be “Room 2048 Bar”.

• The 4 possible states for a Chromecast device are: connected (powered on and talking over the network); paired (Chromecast is paired to user’s device) casting (user is casting content); or, disconnected (Chromecast is not communicating or is not powered on).

RoomsThe Manage Rooms page lists important information about each Chromecast device, including: • Room device is located within• Status of device (enabled, disabled, or locked)• Chromecasts (listed by the device’s MAC address)• Expire (lists the room’s expire time)• Occupied (Yes or No if room is occupied)• Stay ID (a unique number used for troubleshooting)

Users are also able to search by room, to do this enter the room number you would like to find in the Search by Room dialog box and click the green search button. You may narrow your search by

selecting a modifier in the Contains drop down menu. You may also click the red cancel button to clear the search.

The checkboxes in the far left column are used in conjuction with the red Mass Delete button and green Toggle Occupied button at the top left of the screen. The Mass Delete button will delete all checked rooms, the Toggle Occupied button allows all checked rooms Occupied status to be set to Yes or No.

NOTE: If edits are needed to Room menu categories, please visit with your hotel system engineer. Also of note, each MAC address is a link that takes the user to a listing within the Cast Devices submenu.

STAYCAST PairingsOn the Manage STAYCAST Pairings screen, the hotel staff user is able to search, add, edit, or delete device pairings.

To search, enter the user device’s MAC address in the Search by user device MAC dialog box and click the green search button. You may narrow your search by selecting a modifier in the Contains drop down menu. You may also click the red cancel button to clear the search.

To add a pairing, click the green Add STAYCAST Pairing button located to the right of the search bar. In the Add STAYCAST Pairing pop up window enter the Room Number, User Device MAC Address, and select whether or not the pairing is Permanent. Usually a device’s Permanent status is set to NO.

(An example of a device’s Permanent status being set to YES would be a device, such as a tablet computer, that is set permanently in a room to control a single Chromecast.)

To edit a pairing, click on the device’s blue edit button and enter your changes in the Edit STAYCAST Pairing pop up window and click the blue Update STAYCAST Pairing button. NOTE: A device’s room number is not editable for the hotel staff user in the STAYCAST Pairings submenu.

To delete a pairing, click on the pairing’s red trash can button and select YES from the pop up window. Select NO from the pop up window to cancel the action.

Admin UsersOn the Manage API Users screen, the hotel staff user may or may not have the ability to change their login password. If the hotel system engineer has given them the ability to change their password, a small blue edit button will appear next to their password.

Cast Devices RSSI Report Signal Strengths

Cast DevicesFrom the Cast Devices Report submenu the user is able to run a report that lists the name of the device, the Chromecast’s MAC address, device IP, room, location, state, tv, and name of the apps that have been cast. Each column has a search field located under the column heading, and the data may also be sorted by clicking on

any of the column headings. There is also the option to download a CSV file of the data by clicking the blue CSV Download button.

NOTE: Click on the (x) to the right of each search field to clear the field.

Cast Devices RSSI Report Signal Strengths

Detailed RSSI Report Window

RSSI ReportThe hotel staff user is able to view and download reports relating to the RSSI (a measurement of signal strengths used for troubleshooting purposes) in the RSSI Report submenu. The data is sortable by clicking on the column headers, and each column is searchable by using the search fields located underneath the column headers.

The user also has the ability to view a Detailed RSSI Report for each individual Chromecast by clicking on the History links that are specific to each device.

There is also an option to download a CSV file of the data by clicking the blue CSV Download button.

Note: On the Detailed RSSI Report window the user can view the noise and signal levels per hour for a specific timeframe. This is useful for verifying signal strength and troubleshooting should any signal problems arise.

Cast Devices RSSI Report Signal Strengths

Signal StrengthsOn the SIgnal Strengths submenu the user is able to view a color-coded listing of signal strengths to help with troubleshooting. Each box represents one device and has listed the room number, name of the device, and the device’s MAC address in the top half of the box. The bottom half of the box lists the average signal as the large number, with the worst signal to the left as a smaller

number and the best signal to the right as a smaller number. The user is able to change the time frame by entering a date in the Start Date and End Date dialog boxes at the top of the screen and clicking the blue Update Results button. Also, when holding the cursor over each box a device signal pop up window will appear giving the user more information.

Diagnostics Menu

DashboardThe SNC Dashboard submenu under the DIagnostics menu allows the user to see an up-to-date status of the STAYCAST system. This submenu is used by the system engineer and tech support to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

There are four categories within the SNC that are monitored: Chromecasts, Network, Process, and System. When any of these categories are clicked, a Dashboard Glossary pop up window will appear.

There are four color status displays: Green—Normal Operation Orange—Warning Yellow—Caution Red—Critical

NOTE: If guests are reporting problems casting and any colors other than green are shown on the SNC Dashboard screen, the hotel system engineer will need to decide if further tech support is needed.
