Statue Visitation for the Consecrated Life
Parishioners are invited to receive the statue of Our Lady for one week and place her with flowers and candles in a prominent position in the home. Each day you are committed to praying the rosary to which parishioners can be invited to join in if you so wish. We live in a very permissive society in which we are expected to allow everyone to do their own thing. Even parents are instructed not to correct or rebuke their children lest they give them some psychological inhibitions. All of this, is of course, nonsense. If we truly love our neighbours, the greatest good we can want for them is their salvation. Therefore, at time it may be necessary to remind them that some action is separating them from God. It is not popular at times to rebuke even kindly, but love may demand that we do this.

Creationtide began on 1st September and continues until October 4th, the Memorial of Saint Francis of Assisi. An ecumenical service of prayer and thanks-giving for Creation will be held this Wednesday 13th September at 7.30pm here at Mount Carmel followed by refreshments. Everyone welcome.

This year’s Journey in Faith will commence THIS Thursday September 14th with evening Mass at 7pm followed by a short introduction to the course and BBQ in presbytery garden. The course is for people who are interested in joining the Catholic Church and for anyone who is interested in find-ing out more about the Faith, so existing parish-ioners are also very welcome to attend. (349-407) St John was born in Antioch, he was a great genius, whose powerful eloquence earned him the name Chrysostom, ‘the golden mouthed’. He entered monastic life and then became a priest. As Archbishop of Constantinople, he distinguished himself for his preaching and his abundant writings about Cath-olic doctrine and Christian life. He died in exile.

(Third Century) Pope Cornelius defended the faith against the Novation heretics and, helped by St Cyprian, confirmed his authority. He died in exile. St Cyprian was born in Carthage and became its bishop. He was a staunch defender of the faith and ecclesiastical discipline. He suffered martyrdom during the persecution of Valerian. Their names are included in the Roman Canon.

SAINTS & FEASTS FOR THE WEEK …
Baptism To arrange for the baptism of your child/children you will need to contact the parish office on 01527 63096 or visit the parish website to find out when the next available Baptism Meeting is for you to attend. At this meeting you will be given the Baptism Form to take away with you for completion. Once completed please bring it with you to the parish office on a weekday morning between 10am—11am when one of the priests will be able to see you and book the date for baptism. Baptisms normally take place on a Sunday at 12.45pm in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. There is an administrative fee of £30 for Baptism which should be paid at the time of arranging the date.
