VETTING TASKS
• Inspection of T/C-, spot-, fob-and shuttle tankers.
• Co-ordination of inspections (1563/2006)
• Evaluation of inspections (accepting or rejecting vessels)
• Office vetting
• Supporting internal commercial dep. and terminals
• Lectures (Norshipping, officer conferences etc)
• Participate in OCIMF, CDI, SIGGTO, EBIS (and Intertanko)
• Follow up on incidents/accidents
• Focus on acceptance rules/new rules
• 40-60 inquiries (e-mails) from internal/external customers every day.
• Using Intertanko and OCIMF as a ”tool” to promote
• Statoil’s rules ”world wide”.

Statoil additional requirements• If FOC, is ITF Special Agreement on board? If no, then obs.
• Have all deck officers attended bridge team courses? If no, then obs.
• Is Master is given guidance or authority to sign Lloyds Open Form? If no, then obs.
• Are stand by pumps ready on deck in case of oil spill (may be compensated with “dumpvalves” to sloptanks? If no, then obs.
• Control of ships’ lifting equipment (ref. OCIMF “Recommendations for the tagging/labelling, testing and maintenance, documentation/certification for the ships’ lifting equipment”-May 2005.
• UKC and squat to be referred to on the pilot card.
• AIS should be placed in a position easy to see for the radar operator.
• Life buoy lights in hazardious zones should be intrinsically safe or gas proof.
• Comb. Carrier supplement. Is common vent riser system meeting requirements in SOLAS for conventional tankers? If no, then obs.
Check hatch cover for gas leaks (min. 500 mmWG)
• Mooring wire tails must not be made of conventional Polypropylene or Polythelene or mix of same.
• SWL of bollards and chocks on poopdeck?( comments)
