PASTORAL SERVICES
Pastoral orientation services are provided by the
Director of Religious Life (chaplain) of the School
of Optometry, Reverend Ileana Vargas. Her office
is on first floor (Office 156) of the School.

CONTACT NUMBERS STATISTICS
The Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of
Optometry is a campus within the Bayamon campus.
Security Department provide security to the Bayamon
campus and to the School of Optometry.
The main purpose of this department is to provide
adequate and safe environment for the entire university
community.
A guard house is located at both entrances of the Bayamon
campus. Guards provide security 24 hours from Monday
to Sunday. During the regular work period (7am-10pm)
students, faculty and library personnel are allowed to
enter the premises. Patients and visitors are allowed to
enter the premises between 7:30am and 5pm. On Fridays,
the Optometry School premises are open from 6am to
6pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and on Sundays
from 8am to 5pm.

1. Do not stay alone in a classroom, use the library.
2. Travel with a friend or in a group. 3. Be alert and aware of surroundings. 4. Do not carry excess amounts of cash or
more credit cards than you need. 5. Have your vehicle keys in hand when you
approach your vehicle. 6. Immediately lock all doors upon entering
your vehicle or exiting vehicle. 7. Use well lighted streets to reach your des-
tination. 8. If you feel you are being followed, go to
the nearest store or occupied building to request assistance.
9. Do not enter elevator if you are uncertain of any occupant.
10. Be aware of emergency exits. 11. Do not leave your wallet/purse or other
valuables unattended. 12. Never give out personal information over
the phone, such as social security number, date of birth, credit card number or bank PIN code, unless you initiated the phone call or know exactly who you are dealing with.
13. Your life is more important than anything material value.
