Uses Of Static Electricity In Man-MadeStatic electricity has several uses, also called applications, in the real

world and here are some of them:• One main use is in printers and photocopiers where static electric

charges attract the ink, or toner, to the paper.• Static electricity is used in pollution control by applying a static

charge to dirt particles in the air.• To make sure a car's paint is uniform and that it will resist the high

speeds and weather to protect the car's metal interior.• Factories use static electricity to reduce pollution coming from

their smokestacks.

Uses Of Static Electricity In Nature

• As you walk across a carpet, electrons move from the rug to you. Now you have extra electrons and a negative static charge. Touch a door knob and ZAP! The door knob is a conductor. The electrons jump from you to the knob, and you feel the static shock.

• Lightning is just a bigger form of static electricity. Particles in the cloud rub together to produce static electricity. Lightning occurs when electrons are attached to protons on the ground or in other clouds.

• The flowing movement of flammable liquids like gasoline inside a pipe can build up static electricity.

Examples Of Static Electricity In Man-Made• Rubbing a balloon on your head, and bringing it close

to a wall and seeing if it stays mounted. • Rubbing an object (i.e. some sort of plastic scoop)

against a material (i.e. cotton) and placing it beside running water.

• A Final clever use of static electricity is Air Fresheners. Some people buy these to freshen and purify their homes. These devices strip electrons from smoke molecules, dust particles, and pollen in the air, just as what happens in creating static electricity. These charged dust and smoke particles are then attracted to and stick to a plate on the device with the opposite charge. After a while, much of the pollution is drawn from the air. This freshens the air.

Examples Of Static Electricity In Nature

• Also when you brush your hair or take off your clothes, static electricity could cause a bit of your hair to get negatively charged and stand up. These are all examples of how Static Energy takes place in nature.

• Shuffling your feet across a carpeted floor and then touching a metal object.

Problems Of Static Electricity In Man-Made

Too much static electricity in man-made situations can have many bad effects. It can cause you severe burns, it can stop your breathing and increase your heart rate to be abnormal. A rarer side effect is that excessive static electricity can make you paranoid and give you extreme illnesses. In severe cases, even death.

Problems Of Static Electricity In Nature

A Lightning generates a lot of heat and that can create fire easily in just milliseconds. Also natural events involving Static Electricity can cause other dangers, like Explosions. Static Electricity can be used for many things but excess of it can be very dangerous.
