Fast ForWord by Scientific Learning

A program for academic intervention for struggling students that was developed by neuroscientist with a foundation in Brain Based Learning.

The program retrains the brain by creating new neuro-pathways and developing four foundational learning skills common to all academic areas: Memory, Attention, Perception, Sequencing.

Fast ForWord Pilot Study Results at MCHS

MCHS Piloted Fast Forword in 2010-11

Students were selected who had multiple risk factors for dropping out of school and not passing the GHSGT

53 MCHS 11th graders completed the year in the program

Of the 53 students completing the year, 37 students or 70% passed the graduation test!

These students will graduate with a High School Diploma!

Fast ForWord Expansion

For the 2011-12 school year, we have expanded student access of the FastForWord software into the elementary, middle, and high schools as well as the alternative school.

We look forward to reporting our student’s progress during next year’s State of the School System address.
