Membership

SOMSU Departments provide dedicated third-party administrative claims processing to the State of Michigan account. The SOM is a self-funded group health care program with performance guarantee standards and financial penalties.

Michigan House of Representative (HOR)

BCBSM is the administrator for the self-funded plan of the

House of Representatives (HOR).

SOMSU prepares and processes HOR Group #61721

professional claims.

MESSA is an underwritten account. SOMSU Membership Unit handles all membership activities for this account

Michigan Education Special Service Association (MESSA)

Michigan Public School Employee Retirement System (MPSERS)

The SOMSU handles all membership activities for this MPSERS’ account.
