STATE ROUTE 12 CONNECTOR RAMP CLOSURE TO U.S. 101 NORTH

Santa Rosa- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has announced that the original August 20 (ten-day) closure of the State Route 12 connector ramp and flyover to northbound U.S. 101 has been rescheduled. Rather, this closure will require only two weekends in September, September 5 and 12, 2008. It is important to note that this closure will impact those motorists seeking U.S. 101 North from State Route 12. As a result of this change there will be a significant decrease in the original estimated delay time, from 90 minutes during the week to 35-40 minutes over the weekend. In addition, this closure will take place after the Labor Day holiday, further minimizing impact to holiday travelers. Rescheduling of this closure will not affect the current construction schedule for the U.S. 101 Widening and High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane project. Caltrans in conjunction with Ghilotti, MCM Construction, Sonoma County Transportation Authority and the City of Santa Rosa have made this shortened closure possible. All those involved with this project would like to thank the residents and merchants of Santa Rosa for their patience and understanding throughout this construction process. The U.S. 101 Widening and HOV Lane project will complete construction April 2009. Further details pertaining to this closure will be released in the weeks leading up to the scheduled date.
