Varun has extensive early stage experience, since 2005; as
an intrapreneur, banker, failed entrepreneur and successful
entrepreneur. He founded myguesthouse.com in 2009.
Varun has worked extensively in equity research covering
the telecoms services sector for the Americas and later the
ASEAN countries.
Track record:
• MyGuesthouse.com got acquired by MakeMyTrip in
2011. It is a Technology driven Online Portal with an
exhaustive array of 3000+ quality budget
accommodations across 150+ cities.
• Has 4+yrs of fundraising experience for startups.
• Serves as board member of Pennar Industries Limited, a
publicly listed company with a turnover exceeding Rs
1500cr.

Anand Vemuri • MS in Mechanical Engineering, Stanford

• Led R&D at Caldera Medical
About Anand:
Anand was the second hire for the engineering team at
Caldera Medical, a Southern-California medical device startup
that grew to over 40 employees. Having led R&D projects at
Caldera, he has strong experience in market research,
product development, conducting early market testing, and has
six patent applications in process.
Track record:
Hired as the second member of the engineering team in year
one of the company’s existence. Took over as the lead
engineer in March 2011. Complete life-cycle experience on six
implantable devices, four as the engineering manager. Caldera
grew to $7MM in sales in 2011, and was on track for $10MM+
in sales in 2012 as of June, when Anand left .

About Priyanka:
Priyanka began her career in film as the chief assistant to
filmmaker Mira Nair. She went on to join Silicon Valley-
based incubator, YouWeb as an EIR where she wrote
Game Boys, a book chronicling the cradle-to-exit story of
YouWeb's entrepreneurs (including Jason Citron of Open
Feint fame). After graduate school at Stanford she joined
Agawi, a cloud gaming startup focused on the post-PC era
of gaming, as Dir. of Marketing.
Track record:
• Serves on the Board of Advisors for Rover, a Top 20
Education iPad app on Apple App Store.
• Created and organized a conference with Ben Huh and
the Knight Foundation about the future of media
