VStart your conversation with the world.

As a researcher, you have a lot to say. Every day you ask the important questions, do the work, find answers, and publish them.
But then what?
Does the conversation end, or is it just beginning?
Publishing with ASA, CSSA, and SSSA is a partnership built on our shared mission to advance science through facilitating communication among scientists. We can help you start that conversation and improve the impact of your work.
Craft your message. Make a statement. Drive readership and citations.Engage readers even before you submit your paper.
Does the title stand out from others? Does it highlight your results?
Does the abstract include dynamic words in your area of study that are likely to be searched?
Did you include an attractive photo or graphic that will spark interest?
Get motivated by reviewer comments. Our peer review process is well known for its high quality, which will result in a better overall publication.
Take advantage of ACSESS Digital Library features.Core Ideas.
During submission, authors submit Core Ideas of the article—3 to 5 short bullet points that convey the key findings of the article.
Emphasize the novelty and impact of your research on scientific progress and problem solving.
These highlights are helpful for review and are displayed with pub-lished papers. Researchers today are overwhelmed with literature. The Core Ideas will help your reader decide what research is worth their time.
Article usage and citation information. Each published article includes usage statistics right on the page to help you understand the reach of your work and how it changes through time.
Citing articles are displayed as well, so you can keep up with similar work and build connections with researchers in your area.
Binders.Create a Binder of your work to share with colleagues. The Binder feature allows you to assemble a collection of articles and share it with colleagues by email.

Maximize outreach opportunities. Our research has shown that all article promotion increases usage, so go all out.Research Highlights for journals and books are coordinated through our volunteer editorial boards. If your article is selected by an editorial board for further promotion, you will be contacted to prepare a 200-word summary for the web (https://dl.sciencesocieties.org/category/highlights/acsess-dl-news) or CSA News magazine.
Summaries should be written in language that can be understood by an undergraduate student. Make the summary clear and inter-esting. Emphasize your one or two main findings and why they are important, rather than your methods. Include a shortened title. Begin with context, follow with research gaps, and make a strong statement about your impact.
Your article or book could even be the basis for a magazine feature story, a self-study CEU in Crops & Soils magazine, or a press release.
Coordinate with your staff. Work with the public relations staff at your employer to enhance promotion and coordinate use of your summary as a press re-lease around the publication date. Include a link to your article in the journal where the work was published.
Connect via all of your affiliations.Your various professional societies, your division of interest/com-munities, and other professional groups are looking for content for news feeds, emails, magazines, and more to share with their members. Let them know about your work!
