Stars, Stripes & Chow raises $52K for The BaltimoreStation! By: Daily Record Staff " January 19, 2017
The Baltimore Station hosted its second annual Stars, Stripes & Chow event Nov. 12 at GamedayWarehouse in Baltimore. Presented by Venable LLP Foundation, the event raised more than $52,000 tosupport The Baltimore Station, a therapeutic residential treatment program for veterans and others inrecovery from homelessness.
Hundreds of attendees joined honorary chair Richard Gorelick, a former restaurant critic with the BaltimoreSun, at the event which featured food by Mission BBQ, drinks from City Limits, music by the Klassix, a kid’szone, a prize wheel, a 50/50 raffle and a visit from the Oriole Bird.
Teams from The Baltimore Station, Praxis Engineering, PriceModern, Fortego, Prosync and VarenTechnologies prepared their best dishes to compete for the Judge’s Favorite Award (won by Fortego LLCand chosen by a panel of celebrity judges); the People’s Choice Award (won by The Baltimore Station); andBest Decorated Booth, which was selected by event attendees.
The Baltimore Station helps homeless men — primarily veterans — bound by drug and alcohol addictionbreak the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient members of society.
