The upcoming Night of Broadway Stars at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, does just that by bringing the delights of Broadway together with the satisfaction of serving those in need, specifically the homeless kids sheltered by Covenant House Florida. The nonprofit organization, which shelters and serves more than 1,500 teens and young adults each year, is the beneficiary of Night of Broadway Stars, a one- of-a kind musical experience showcasing top-tier Broadway talent. Top sponsors include Accenture USA and T&G Constructors. The musical production, created by renowned lyricist and performer Neil Berg, includes ntunbers from such classics as Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Les Misdrables, Wicked, Evita and Jekyll & Hyde performed by A-list Broadway veterans Capathia Jenkins, Rita Harvey, John Treacy Egan, Nat.alie Toro and Quentin Earl-Darrington. Celebrated tap dance artist Ted Louis Levy also will showcase his talent. Some of the residents at Covenant House Florida are being coached by Berg, so they may participate in several of the Broadway ntunbers. Night of Broadway Stars begins with gourmet dinner stations and premier cocktails in the Peck Courtyard while guests bid on premium silent auction items. As dinner and bidding winds down, guests head to the Broward Center's Amaturo Theater for the Broadway spectacular. During the show, a live auction will feature a high-end cruise worth approximately $8,000 donated by Azamara Club Cruises, the ltrxury brand of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
