Emphasis is always on penmanship. Ittypically only gives a page of practice, so it's not a text to be used for teaching. But for review orpractice, it's engaging. Perfect as a summer bridge workbook to keep skills sharp. My son just finished Kindergarten and I gave him this workbook at the beginning of summervacation. He has NEVER willingly done a worksheet in his life. He would argue and get grumpyabout it. He hasn't even had this workbook for 24 hours and he's almost completed the whole thing! He's worked through it independently with only a little help (hes at a pretty high level of reading) andhe's loving it! I think we'll be back soon for the 2nd grade version! My son loves this. He is a math-loving kid and gets very impatient with writing tasks, but he loves topractice his letters and add the names to characters, etc. in these books! He isn't even a huge StarWars fan; he merely likes the movies, but he gets very excited about these books! We home schooland the activities are on target and a great way to give him some extra practice at the basics. It'sright on for late-kindergarten/1st grade post-summer warm up.This is a great book to supplement what your child is learning in school during breaks or over thesummer. However, like the math one we have, the material aligns with what is actually covered inkindergarten so if you are homeschooling first grade or your child is currently in first grade, thematerial would likely be a little too easy. However, it is great for reviewing and practicing what wascovered in kindergarten which is what I purchased it for.Bought this for my kindergartener for Christmas. He has completed 1/3 of the book so far. He lovesthe fact that it's Star Wars, even if most of the book is generic letter copying. One word of advicethough, if you're like me and you have NO idea what the Star Wars characters are named, whenyou get to the "fill in the missing letter" section, the answers go in the order that they're listed on theinstructions at the top of the page. Really helpful if you didn't know that "boba fett" has a cousin ordad or something named "jango fett". :DGreat summer work for a fan of Star Wars. No arguments about doing the work book when it is allabout our sons favorite subject. These books are a great review book, so we always buy the yearbehind to review material for the upcoming year. It is too hard for them to be learning new materialfrom this workbook. My wife teaches kindergarten. She loves these books and so do her Kinders, who get copies of thepages to work on. Educational and topical. Have to get and keep their interest after all. Everyoneknows Star Wars! These are perfect! My 1st grader was having troubles in writing and these books helped breakthings down for him and in a fun and exciting way! He loved them! I was going to hire a tutor but noneed after using these workbooks. After we completed the workbook, I used a protective sheet tocontinue using the book!Star Wars Workbook: 1st Grade Writing Skills (Star Wars Workbooks) Star Wars Workbook: 1stGrade Math (Star Wars Workbooks) Star Wars Workbook: 1st Grade Reading (Star WarsWorkbooks) Star Wars Workbook: Kindergarten Math Skills (Star Wars Workbooks) Star WarsWorkbook: 2nd Grade Math (Star Wars Workbooks) Star Wars Workbook: 2nd Grade Reading (StarWars Workbooks) Star Wars Workbook: Kindergarten Writing and ABCs (Star Wars Workbooks)Leadership: Management Skills, Social Skills, Communication Skills - All The Skills You'll Need(Conversation Skills,Effective Communication,Emotional ...
