Keith Savoie
TCBA President
Welcome back to a new season of TCBA.
The Delegates meeting on Friday morn-
ing was held at the host hotel. The meet-
ing started with the dispensing of the
reading of the minutes from the previous
meeting. AMF Bowlmor in Kenner, LA
was announced as the host center for the
2016 All Star / National Playoff Tour-
nament on June 09-12, 2016. The na-
tional award winners were announced.
There were no new rules to be voted on
this year.
The regional wildcard tournaments were
once again a huge success. Of all of the
TCBA wildcard teams that qualified,
only 7 teams did not bowl. The ratio for
men’s wildcard teams will remain 1 in 5
and the women 1 in 3. The format for
the regional wildcard tournament will
also remain 4 games. The Regional
tournament will be held no later than
two weeks after the end of your league.
Congratulations to all of our 2015
champions. The All Star tournament
gave the TCBA four first time winners.
Division I winners were for the Women,
Arvese McGraw from Dallas and for the
Men was Dant’e Davis also from Dallas.
Division II found Felisha McClain from
Houston for the Women and for the
Men, Scott Prior of New Orleans took
the honors.
The National Playoffs found a new team
on top for the women as USA Bowl/
Wicks Pro Shop from Dallas was victori-
ous for the women and Storm from Hou-
ston Independent ended on top of the
hill, for the second year in a row, for the
men.
During the All Star and National tour-
naments Cheri Garrett, Michael Ewing,
Joseph King achieved perfection with
300 games. Kevin Green went one better
by rolling two 300 games in the All Star
tournament. Michael Ewing and Mark
Morgan also had a 299 game. Earl Lau-
rence rolled an 801 in the tournament.
Many thanks to our tournament staff.
Without them the tournaments could
not be achieved.
A great BIG shout out to the manage-
ment and staff at Forum Bowl. Their
attention to the bowlers is what makes
their tournament run smoothly.
After the tournament was over, our Ex-
ecutive Treasurer, Susan Fayard, re-
signed her position for personal reasons.
A very special thanks to Susan for her
time with the Executive Board. Susan
served on the board from 2010-2015.
She will be missed.
A special Executive board meeting was
held and the board appointed Wally
Sculthorp to fill the vacated position for
the rest of the term. Wally is no
stranger to the TCBA. He has held the
position of New Orleans Men’s secretary
since 2010 and has been on our tourna-
ment staff for many years.

Back in 2012 Visionary Bowling Products’ V. P. Jason Wonders, approached the TCBA to offer the league a bowling
ball made exclusively for the TCBA. This was not a ball for picking up corner pins. It was a high performance ball that
bowlers would use for their main ball in competition. Boy did they deliver! The “Classic” was it’s name and classical
was how it delivered. Several bowlers rolled 300 games, 800 series and increased averages with the Classic.
That opportunity has been offered by Visionary again. TCBA bowlers purchased 518 balls in 2012 and Visionary added
$5,180.00 to the National tournament prize fund. For the cost of $1.00 per game or $108.00 for the season (108 games)
Visionary will produce another ball exclusively for TCBA bowlers. They will once again add money to the national tour-
naments. The amount is based on how many balls are purchased. We understand the some of our bowlers are on other
ball manufactures staff and may not be able to purchase a ball for themselves. The higher the percentage of bowlers
purchasing the ball the higher the amount Visionary will add to the prize fund.
Please think about this offer. The ball will be one that you will not leave in the bag.
Visionary Bowling Products offers another Ball to the TCBA
Posted in Bowlingthismonth.com May 2014
The Classic’s journey to the public market is an interesting story. It was first produced exclusively for members of the TCBA
travel league. The ball performed so well for so many people across the country that Visionary has now made the ball available
to the general public.
We can see why they made this decision as all three testers were able to strike at will on our medium test pattern. The reaction
we saw when we threw The Classic was what we would expect to see from a hybrid covered bowling ball. The ball cleared the
front cleaner than the solid covered control balls we threw next to it.
