Rubina and Azhar have been roped in for Lord Owen’s Lady, about a Welsh nobleman who falls in love with an Indian girl, reports imdb.com. The film will be shot in Wales and India and the producers are in negotiations with Sir Anthony Hopkins to play Lord Owen’s father.

Sanjay Dutt gets samurai soldiers inked on armBollywood star Sanjay Dutt has a tattoo fetish. He has at least five on his body and has gone for another one - this time two samurai soldiers inked one below the other on his right arm. One soldier is inked in black and white, while the other is colourful and there are Japanese flowers falling over them. According to a source, these soldiers symbolise that all through his life the actor has fought like a samurai and was never bogged down by the hardships. After 38 years, Zeenat Aman, Kabir Bedi pair up againYesteryears glamour queen Zeenat Aman and the debonair Kabir Bedi will be seen together on the big screen after a gap of 38 years in Sanjay Sharma’s “Dunno Y... Naa Jane Kyun”. The two were last seen in the 1971 movie “Hulchul”, which was directed by O.P. Ralhan. In “Dunno Y...” Zeenat plays a woman who supports her entire family single-handedly after her husband, played by Kabir, deserts her. According to a source from the unit, Kabir instantly liked the role, especially since it had an emotional side to it. To be shot in Mumbai and Goa, the film also stars Bollywood’s former dancing queen Helen.

Model-actor Arjun Rampal will be the face of well-known men’s clothing brand Thomas Scott’s new

line of formal and casual wear. “Now I am coming as a brand ambassador and not a model to endorse a brand which I believe is good and we will have a good campaign,” said Arjun, who recently launched his restaurant in Delhi, in a statement. The new line would be launched shortly in India. She wants her younger sibling to be welcomed by the audience like Kareena Kapoor was. “My sister Natasha who is 21 will be in films next year. Hopefully she’ll be welcomed in the industry. I’m very excited for her. Let’s hope her career works. She’s preparing herself, working out ferociously. When I started out I had no clue about these things. At least now when they know I’m her sister they’ll give her a chance,” Ayesha said. “There’re so many beautiful girls in this country. Maybe they’ll watch Natasha at least the first time because she’s my sister. But there’s the downside. They’ll start comparing us. Audiences are so unforgiving. They give you one chance, and then they let go,” she added. Ayesha said she would like Natasha to be received like Kareena Kapoor, who became a bigger star than her elder sister Karisma. However, other star sisters like Tanisha (younger sister of Kajol) and Shamita Shetty (younger sister of Shilpa Shetty) were cold-shouldered by the audience. The comedian is of the view that the talent to make others laugh is innate, but he feels that even those who have it are at times not able to become successful comedians as they lack presentation skills. “My upcoming institute would particularly focus on this very aspect to produce professional comedians. I want to hone the skills of comedians by training them to carry themselves confidently on stage,” Srivastav added. Vulgarity in comedy shows concerns Srivastav a lot. “What’s the use of the comedy that you cannot enjoy with your parents, sisters or other family members? I believe if comedians practise self-regulation, we can promote comedy in a better way,” he added. Srivastav who started in Bollywood playing bit roles in movies such as the Salman Khan starrer “Maine Pyar Kiya”, “Mr Azad” and “Baazigar”, is now waiting for his forthcoming movie “Bhavnao ko Samjho”, which is to be released next month. “The speciality of the movie is that it has over 50 stand-up comedians. Apart from acting, the scripting and direction has also been done by the team of comedians,” Srivastav said. Srivastav achieved national fame after winning STAR One’s “Laughter Challenge” show a couple of years back. He is now a regular on several comedy shows on TV channels as well as stage shows all over India. The comedian has nearly 2,800 live shows to his credit including in countries like the US, Britain, Australia, South Africa, Kenya, Fiji, Dubai, Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Priyanka excited about entering Guinness Book with 12 roles

Eighty years ago legendary British actor Lupino Lane created a (yet unbroken) record for a male actor playing 24 roles in “Only Me” (1929). And now Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra is all excited about the possibility of her entering the record books for doing 12 roles in forthcoming “What’s Your Raashee”.

“I was aware about Sanjeev Kumar playing nine roles in ‘Naya Din Nayi Raat’ and Kamal Haasan being seen 10 times over in ‘Dashavatharam’. However, even I got to know about Lupino Lane’s achievement very recently. Hats off to him to have done that eight decades back and that too in a silent film,” Priyanka said.

In Ashutosh Gowariker’s “What’s Your Raashee”, she plays 12 different roles and the film has already been referred to the Guinness Book of World Records. While there have been quite a few double role performances by leading ladies in the past, there aren’t many movies where a Bollywood actress has played even a triple role, let aside coming close to enacting a dozen-odd characters in a single outing.

“Yes, I have been told about this. I guess not just in India but even in world cinema no woman has ever played 12 different characters in the film. In fact, the producers of ‘What’s Your Raashee’ have got in touch with the Guinness Book of World Records and we are awaiting their response,” said Priyanka.

If one goes down the memory lane, one can comfortably say that with “What’s Your Raashee?”, Priyanka may well boast

of doing the biggest ever film written for a woman protagonist in the history of

Indian cinema. “Please don’t make it all sound so big and heavy. Let’s just look at it as an entertaining movie and leave it there. Words like ‘greatest’ and ‘biggest’ don’t hold much relevance if one doesn’t

justify each of the characters. You may win when it comes to count but then you must also be able to put some weight in your performance,” she said.

So was she overjoyed when Gowariker approached her for the role?

“Not at all. In fact I was quite nervous about how I would manage to pull it off. A role may look fantastic on paper and you too may feel confident of pulling it off. Still, you have to be extra careful to make sure that audiences too like what you bring to the table,” said Priyanka, who has given three consecutive hits - “Dostana”, “Fashion” and “Kaminey”. This was the reason why she stayed away from all the limelight while shooting for ‘What’s Your Raashee?’ and her look for each of the characters too was kept under wraps. “You end up picking on all the flattery around you but none of that helps in what comes across on screen”, she said. “’What’s Your Raashee?’ has such a fantastic script written with each of the 12 roles boasting of such well-etched characterisation. “I had to go all out in following Ashutosh’s vision. With the coming together of a great production house, an intelligent director, a fantastic co-star and some melodious music, it all seems to have summed up well. Now that the mathematics part has gone well, it is time to see how audiences react to our effort.”

Almost four years after its worldwide release, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s critically-acclaimed venture “Black” has hit the Korean screens and has secured third spot at the box office.

Distributed worldwide by Yash Raj Films (YRF), the Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji starrer that had a worldwide release Feb 4, 2005, opened in Korea Aug 28 across 180 screens, said a statement released from the production house here Thursday. Touted as one of the biggest release for a Hindi movie in Korea, “Black” debuted at the third spot at the Korean box office alongside local blockbusters “Take-Off” and “Haeundae” occupying the first two spots, respectively.

Loosely based on Helen Keller’s autobiography “The Story of My Life”, the film revolves around a blind, deaf and mute girl, and her relationship with her teacher who later suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. The film was released in the Korean market as YRFs strategy to open doors for “Indian cinema in non-traditional territories”.

Yash Raj to distribute Ajay Devgan’s ‘All The Best’ globallyYash Raj Films has bagged the international distribution rights for Ajay Devgan Films’ movie “All The Best - Fun Begins”. Releasing Oct 16, director Rohit Shetty’s comedy promises audiences a perfect blend of action, and comedy with a strong dose of fun, said a press release from Yash Raj Films.

The movie will have Ajay as a wannabe chartered accountant and Bipasha Basu as his wife. Fardeen Khan will be seen as an upcoming singer who depends for pocket money on his millionaire brother, played by Sanjay Dutt, while Mugdha Godse will essay the role of Fardeen’s girlfriend.
