The schools that achieved pass rates in English, math, history and science with 95 percent or

I congratulate the principals, teachers and students of these schools for performance andachievement that consistently exceeds the commonwealths accreditation standards, Wrightsaid in a release. These schools have earned an opportunity to set aside concerns about annualaccreditation for three years and lead the way in developing innovative instructional strategiesand lesson plans that immerse students in the content of Virginias rigorous new standards inmathematics, English, science and history and prepare them for success on the correspondingassessments.

Each school with the waiver will remain fully accredited through the 2014-2015 school year. TheBoard of Education authorized waivers from annual accreditation for high-performing schoolsin 2006. Schools granted waivers continue to administer SOL tests and detailed grade-by-gradeand subject-by-subject results are reported to parents and the public.
