In the lates 1992 there was a strong will from companies to be “certified” (Market needs).

Let’s see the series of EN ISO 9001.It’s well known to standardization people

the bureaucracy system at that time.

• (Private sectors and individuals involved in the system, • only for preparation reason).• Extra cost for the company• Spent precious time• Many people involved (specially from the company)• European Directives and immediately after New Approach • Directives have been implemented into National Legislation. • There is a strong connection between Standardization • and Market activities.• Plenty of Standards• Overlapping Standards• Different TC’s involved in the same field.

In Southern Europe, small or bigger in population countries face the same problem.

SURVIVAL

Let’s take “a lift”.Standardization on “Lifts” is under the Technical Committee CEN/TC 10.

Under the programme of CEN/TC 10 we find out the series Standards EN 81.1, 81.2 …

Example:

The lift process is an integrated system, which is constituted from many different parts.

So:

3. Most of the time people get confused about “a recent published standard” of those standards

which have been withdrawn.

1. Under a specific field of application, list all the Directives.

2. List all the standards, under each Directive, giving priority to the mandated standards.
