When Eric Rosow and I started Diameter Health six years ago we dedicated ourselves to improvinghealthcare quality and efficiency through the intelligent use of data The Health Information Exchangemarket was first to recognize the value of Diameter Healthrsquos technology to standardize and normalize clinicaldata from diverse sources We are grateful for the belief you have demonstrated in us and proud about whatwe have accomplished together- in becoming NCQA certified technology in developing a best in classHosted Solution and in responding to your feedback for product improvements Our team has growncommensurate with our success as we now have over 30 team members on staff
2019 finds us on the cusp of additional exciting market growth Most prominent is the emergence of healthplans as a growth opportunity for both Diameter Health and our HIE partners In fact more than half ofPayer CIOs surveyed by Gartner identified clinical data integration (CDI) as a top five investment priority forPayer organizations In addition Gartner identified that healthcare Payer IT organizations generally lack thespecific expertise needed to execute clinical data integration initiatives This leads to suboptimal businessoutcomes Long story short Payers are increasingly leveraging HIEs and Diameter Health to create
standard supplemental data for use in HEDIS and STAR programs and also a robust data asset for bettercare management The potential value of incremental clinical data is significant and represents a completelynew business use case for all of us

Terminology Collaboration As part of a clinical data audit John Snyder Lead Medical Terminologistidentified LOINC codes in US laboratory results data mappings that were originally created in 2009 toaddress ordering issues for Canada Health Infoway These code descriptions look very similar to method-less result LOINC codes and can easily be erroneously mapped to LOINC Working with both RegenstriefInc and Canada Health Infoway Diameter Health is reviewing these codes and implementing solutions thatwill prevent further infiltration into the US Healthcare data system

Added logic to vitals to display human-readable blood pressure in outbound CCD as a single line (eg12080) instead of multiple lines when possibleAbility to limit the number of vital sign entries that are included in an outbound summary CCD(mrnccd route) by a fixed number of vitals (per vital category) or date rangeAdded ability to preserve HTML ltbr gt line breaks in inbound human-readable content If the inboundcontent has them they will be parsed and stored as line breaks then converted back to HTML ltbr gtline breaks in outbound human-readable content
Significant improvements to the free text parsing of medication sigs (aka administration instructions)This involved review of a large body of real-world medications and working through consistency andaccuracy improvements Specific improvements include
Better management of dashes inside doses (eg take 5-325 mg tablet is not take 5 to 325mg This includes hard limits on the allowable ranges of dosingImprovements to the management of dose routes (nasal inhalation injection)New use of action verbs (inject and apply) in rebuilt human-readable sigBetter date and time managementImproved handling of units (eg 30 [IU] insulin) as a basis for administrationBug fix regarding the management of pain scores in patient instructionsBug fix regarding repeated units of measure and ingredient namesNew dose frequency mappings (eg 3-4 times per day)Select new ingredients doses and routes updated in reference filesBug fix for specified time management

For our customers serving as QCDRs reporting due March 31st 2019 should be done with the 2018 versionof measures and using the full 12 months of 2018 data
We continue to certify the 2018 eCQM measures as NCQA releases test decks The updated versions of all24 2017 measures are complete for 2018 and available for use While Diameter will continue to pursuecertification of the updates this is not required before measure use In addition three new measures areavailable for use

For our customers serving as QCDRs reporting due March 31st 2019 should be done with the 2018 versionof measures and using the full 12 months of 2018 data
We continue to certify the 2018 eCQM measures as NCQA releases test decks The updated versions of all24 2017 measures are complete for 2018 and available for use While Diameter will continue to pursuecertification of the updates this is not required before measure use In addition three new measures areavailable for use
