NEW! Stairwell LED fixture

Radio Powr SavrTM wireless corner-mount occupancy/vacancy sensor

Stairwell Fixture Solutions

What are stairwell fixture solutions? Stairwell fixtures are a retrofit solution that automatically adjust light output based on stairwell occupancy.

• Utilizes an integral Lutron wireless lighting control device, programmed to occupied and unoccupied light levels that are field-adjustable and specific to a project’s code requirements

• Receives signal from Radio Powr SavrTM occupancy/vacancy sensors (sold separately) via Lutron reliable Clear Connect® RF technology

• Provides the flexibility to determine occupancy/vacancy sensor quantities, mounting configuration, and placement requirements per the stairwell design

How does it work?Occupied: 50% light levelUnoccupied: 10% light level

Benefits Energy savings – ability to save over 80% of lighting energy usage1

– high-end trim reduces light levels when occupied

– occupancy sensing lowers light levels when unoccupied

Simple installation – wireless communication between devices allows the occupancy/vacancy sensor(s) to be mounted in the location that provides the maximum area of coverage with no need for additional wiring

High ROI – payback as low as 3-years; utility rebates available in most locations2

Flexible – assign multiple fixtures to a single occupancy/vacancy sensor, allowing multiple fixtures to adjust to the occupied light level

Meets codes and standards (see back cover for details)

1 Rebates and savings assumes the replacement of a 2 lamp 40W T12 stairwell fixture at full output for 8760 hours with a 2 lamp 32W T8 fixture at 50% output for 2190 hours and 10% output for 6570 hours. LEDs may see greater savings due to reduced wattage.

2 Payback varies depending upon lamp wattage, usage, electricity rates, and available rebates. For more information on utility rebates, visit www.lutron.com/incentives.

3 Reduced wattage T8 lamps only available in 4 ft fixture with the lowest end dimming of 10%.

How to build a model number

Codes and standards• ASHRAE 90.1 2010 Additional Control (9.4.1.6) Lighting in stairwells shall have one or more control devices to automatically reduce lighting power in

any one controlled zone by at least 50% within 30 minutes of all occupants leaving that controlled zone.

• IgCC (International Green Construction Code) Interior Light Reduction Controls (609.3) Occupant sensor controls shall be provided to automatically reduce connected lighting power by not

less than 45% during periods when occupants are not present in all of the following locations: 1. Corridors and enclosed stairwells. 2. Storage and stack areas not open to the public. 3. Parking garages.
