Robust and reliableThe range comprises two series of pumps:
The KP series of lightweight, portable pumps
suitable for drainage jobs and pumping of
grey wastewater with solids up to 10 mm
without fibres; and the AP series, designed
for handling all kinds of drainage water and
domestic wastewater with solids up to 50
mm size.

Being fully portable, the KP pumps are also ideal for
emptying of tanks and pools. With a float switch
connected, the KP pumps can be used for automatic
operation.
The AP pump rangeMade throughout of stainless steel, the robust
Grundfos AP pumps are designed for long-life. Avail-
able with motor sizes up to 1.5 kW, these highly effi-
cient pumps are ideal for pumping of wastewater
from residential buildings. Depending on the model,
the AP pumps are capable of handling contaminated
fluids with long fibres and solids of up to 50 mm size.
The AP pumps are designed for freestanding installa-
tion in pump pits and allow for both vertical and
sloping installation.
Due to the large variety of performance profiles and
hydraulics available the AP pumps are suitable for
variety of domestic applications as well as for drain-
age jobs in agriculture, industry or in commercial
buildings.
The KP/AP pumps are good looking, we know! The
design has been awarded several international de-
sign prizes. But don’t let that give you the idea that
these pumps are just “good lookers”. In fact, behind
their elegantly polished exterior the KP/AP pumps
are both hard working, robust and highly efficient!
The KP pump rangeWith a choice of either 0.15 kW, 0.25 kW or 0.35 kW
motors, and capable of handling solids of up to
10 mm size, the smart, yet very robust KP stainless
steel pumps are perfectly suited for pumping all
kinds of drainage water and grey wastewater.
The KP pumps are ideal for permanent installation,
and allow for vertical, horizontal or even sloping in-
stallation. When permanently installed, these pumps
are typically used for the drainage of basements, or
for pumping of wastewater from washing machines,
baths, showers, drainage around buildings etc.

GRUNDFOS KP range
The KP series comprises three basic models,
KP 150, KP 250 and KP 350. The KP pumps
are designed for liquid transfer and drain-
age of clean or grey wastewater with the
pump partially or completely submerged
in the liquid.
The pumps can be used for automatic as
well as manual operation and are suit-
able for permanent installation or use as
a portable pump.
Light, robust and versatile The KP pumps are designed for all kinds of do-
mestic drainage jobs. These handy little pumps
are light and compact and fit into even narrow
drainage pits. The use of stainless steel makes
the pumps virtually maintenance free.
The strainer, which will allow solids up to 10 mm
size to pass, can be dismantled for easy cleaning
without the use of special tools.
The KP pumps can be used for all kinds of liquid
transfer and drainage jobs – including drainage
of basements, tanks, pools and garden ponds etc.
Non-return valveIn order to prevent backflow, a non-return valve
is available as an accessory. The non-return valve
consists of a rubber flap and a stainless steel re-
tainer. Fitted into the discharge port of the pump,
the valve is kept in place by the discharge pipe.

Performance overview
Pumped liquidsKP pumps without vertical level switch, with or
without float switch, are suitable for pumping of:
• Clean, non-aggressive water
• Grey wastewater without solid particles or fibres
• Rainwater
• Surface water
• Groundwater
If the pump has been used for other liquids than
clean water, it is recommended to flush the pump
with clean water immediately after use.
The open impeller construction allows free passage
of solids up to 10 mm size.
Pumps with a vertical level switch mounted must
only be used for pumping of clean water and drain
water without solids.
Liquid temperatureMin. liquid temp.: 0°C
Max. liquid temp., continuous operation: 50°C.
For periods not exceeding 2 minutes at intervals
of at least 30 minutes: 70°C.
During continuous pumping the suction strainer
must always be completely covered by the liquid.

MotorThe KP pump can be supplied with the choice of
single or three-phase asynchronous canned motor
with liquid-filled rotor chamber and water lubricated
bearings. The pumped liquid cools the motor.
Single-phase motors incorporate automatic overload
protection, which cuts out the motor in case of over-
load. When it has cooled to normal temperature, the
motor will automatically restart.
The KP pumps are delivered with a hermetically
sealed motor with a socket for replaceable cable.
Enclosure class: IP 68.
Insulation class: F.

Materials
InstallationThe KP pumps can be supplied with or without float
switch or with a vertical level switch (see page 6).
Pumps with the vertical level switch mounted must
be used in a vertical position. With or without the float
switch, the KP pumps can be used in any position
(vertical, horizontal or tilted), as long as the discharge
port remains the uppermost part of the pump.
With a float switch or the vertical level switch
mounted, the KP pumps can be used for permanent
installation with automatic operation.

Float switch:A clamp on the handle of the pump holds the cable
of the float switch. The difference between start and
stop levels can be adjusted by changing the free cable
length between the handle of the pump and the
float switch.

The Grundfos AP12 series share many
of the features of the KP series.
The AP12 series comprises four models,
featuring motors with 0.4 kW, 0.6 kW,
0.8 kW, and 1.1 kW respectively.
Permanent installation orportable useThe AP12 pumps are designed for the slightly more
demanding domestic drainage jobs. The pump fits
into narrow drainage pits, and the use of stain-
less steel makes the pumps virtually maintenance
free. The strainer, which will allow solids up to
12 mm to pass, can be dismantled for cleaning
without the use of special tools.
The AP12 pumps are suitable for the following
applications:
• Ground water lowering
• Pumping from drainage pits
• Pumping from surface water pits with inflow
from roof gutters, shafts, tunnels etc.
• Emptying of ponds, tanks etc.
Stainless steelThe AP12 pumps are made with a stainless steel
pump sleeve and housing, made in one piece. The
suction strainer is clipped on to the housing and
can easily be removed for cleaning. The strainer
prevents the passage of large solids while ensur-
ing a slow flow into the pump. As a result, most
impurities will be deposited outside the pump.
The pump housing is fitted with an internal riser
pipe, which ensures high efficiency. The riser pipe
has a number of holes, which enable efficient
cooling of the motor.
Cable plugThe mains cable entry of the AP12 pump is of the
socket and plug connection type. This makes quick
and easy dismantling possible and ensures a her-
metically sealed cable connection.

a semi-open type with L-shaped impeller blades.
The blades curve backwards in order to reduce any
harmful effects from solid particles and to reduce

MotorThe AP12 motor is an asynchronous, dry motor with
deep-groove ball bearings greased for life. The pumped
liquid cools the motor. Welding hermetically seals the
motor unit and no filling compounds have been used,
i.e. the motor is air-filled.
At the top of the motor, single-phase pumps have a
capacitor housing with capacitor and sockets for the
motor cable and the float switch. Oil is used as a
barrier fluid between the pumped liquid and the
motor unit.
Enclosure class: IP68.
Insulation class: F (155°C).
InstallationThe AP12 pumps are available for manual or auto-
matic operation. For manual on/off operation, the
pump is supplied without a float switch.
For automatic operation, the pump can be supplied
with a built-in float switch (single-phase models).
Three-phase models can be supplied with a separate
float switch and control box. For two-pump installa-
tion the LCD control panels are available as acces-
sories.
Pumps fitted with float switches can also be used for
manual on/off operation if the float switch is fixed
in an upwards-pointing position.
The pumps can be used in a vertical, horizontal or
tilted position, as long as the discharge port remains
the uppermost part of the pump.

GRUNDFOS AP35 /AP50
The Grundfos AP35/AP50 series of pumps
take over where the KP and AP12 series
lets off.
The AP range comprises two series of
models with motor sizes from 0.6 kW
to 1.1 kW. The AP35 series is capable of
handling solids up to 35 mm size, while
the AP50 handles solids up to 50 mm
size.
Robust constructionMade throughout of stainless steel, the Grundfos
AP35/AP50 pumps are robustly designed for long-
life pumping and drainage of effluent and waste-
water from residential buildings, farms, etc.
Permanent installation or portable useThe AP35/AP50 pumps are designed for the more
demanding drainage jobs and pumping of efflu-
ents. The pumps are suitable for permanent in-
stallation, for instance in a pump pit, or as a
portable utility pump.
The pumps are capable of handling long fibres as
well as solids, and the strainer can be dismantled
for easy cleaning without the use of special tools.
The AP35 and AP50 pumps are designed for the
pumping of drainage water and effluent, and
are ideally suitable for following applications:
• Ground water lowering
• Pumping from drainage pits
• Pumping from surface water pits with inflow
from roof gutters, shafts, tunnels etc.
• Emptying of ponds, tanks etc.
• Pumping of fibre-containing wastewater
from laundries and industries
• Pumping of domestic wastewater from septic
tanks and sludge treating systems
• Pumping of domestic wastewater without
discharge from waterclosets
• Pumping of domestic wastewater with
discharge from waterclosets (AP50 only)
Stainless steelThe AP35/AP50 pumps are made with a stainless
steel pump sleeve and housing made in one piece.
The suction strainer is clipped on to the housing
and can easily be removed for cleaning.

Performance overview
Pumped liquidsAP35/AP50 pumps are suitable for pumping of:
• Clean, non-aggressive water
• Grey wastewater without fibres
• Drainage water with solids up to 35 or 50 mm size
• Wastewater with or without discharge from
water closets

During continuous pumping the suction strainer

Non-return valveIn order to prevent backflow, a non-return valve is
available as an accessory.
ImpellerThe AP35/AP50 impeller is made of stainless steel.
It is of a vortex type with L-shaped impeller blades.
The blades curve backwards in order to reduce any
harmful effects from solid particles and to reduce
power consumption.

MotorThe AP motor is an asynchronous, dry motor with
deep-groove ball bearings greased for life. The
pumped liquid cools the motor. Welding hermetically
seals the motor unit and no filling compounds have
been used, i.e. the motor is air-filled.
At the top of the motor, single-phase pumps have a
capacitor housing with capacitor and sockets for the
motor cable and the float switch. 3-phase pumps have
no capacitor and only one socket for the motor cable.
Oil is used as a barrier fluid between the pumped
liquid and the motor unit.
Enclosure class: IP68.
Insulation class: F (155°C).
InstallationThe AP35 and AP50 pumps are available for manual
or automatic operation. For manual on/off operation,
the pump is supplied without float switch.
For automatic operation, the pump can be supplied
with a built-in float switch (single-phase models).
Three-phase models can be supplied with a separate
float switch and control box. For two-pump installa-
tion the LCD control panels are available as accessories.
Pumps fitted with float switches can also be used for
manual on/off operation if the float switch is fixed
in an upwards-pointing position.
The pumps can be used in a vertical, horizontal or
tilted position, as long as the discharge port remains
the uppermost part of the pump.

The Grundfos AP35B/AP50B series of
pumps are built for effluent discharge
and pumping of domestic sewage. These
pumps are designed with a horizontal
discharge port, suitable for installation
on an auto-coupling guide-rail system.
The AP35B/AP50B pumps are also ideal
for use as portable utility pumps.
Sturdy designThe AP35B and AP50B pumps are made through-
out of stainless steel. These pumps are built for the
sometimes rough work of handling raw waste-
water and sewage from private housings, farms,
small industry and commercial buildings.
The AP range comprises two series of models with

series is capable of handling long fibres and solids
up to 35 mm size, while the AP50B handles solids

Easy to dismantle
The AP35B/AP50B pumps are assembled by means
of four stainless steel spring clamps. This eliminates
the common problems with unhandy bolts and nuts
and makes the pumps quick and easy to dismantle
and reassemble for cleaning and servicing.
Non-corrosive materialsThe AP35B /AP50B pump housing has a unique de-
sign for submersible wastewater pumps, which en-
ables an unusually high head. The pumps housing
is made entirely of stainless steel with a smooth
surface and a hydraulically optimised shape for free
passage of particles.
The pumps are mounted with a removable ring stand
made from very durable shock-proof polycarbonate.
Vortex impellerThe AP35B /AP50B impeller is of the Vortex type and
made of stainless steel. The L-shaped impeller blades
curve backwards in order to reduce any harmful
effects from solid particles and to reduce power con-
sumption. The centre of the impeller has a protective
cap to prevent deposits of long-fibred material. The
1.5 kW AP50B impeller is made of cast stainless steel.

The LC/LCD 107 and LC/LCD 108 controllers are
designed for the control of the Grundfos AP pump
range. The controllers incorporate all necessary
components such as contactors, control board
with lights for indication of operating condition
and alarms.
Control featuresThe LC/LCD 107 and LC/LCD 108 controllers are
available for direct on-line starting (DOL) and
star-delta starting. In addition, the controllers
provide a number of control features, such as:
• Control of one or two pumps based on level
bells (LC/LCD 107) and level switches (LC/LCD
