The University Grants Commission, New Delhi has conferred the status of “University with Potential for Excellence” to Osmania University, Hyderabad. Accordingly the UGC, New Delhi has sanctioned Non-NET fellowship Grant to the University during XII plan period. The Applications are invited from the eligible candidates of the respective disciplines for the award of Non-NET fellowships to the registered research scholars of the Department of __________________________ under Faculty of ________________________ to complete their research work leading to the award of Ph.D. degree in time in the respective disciplines in the prescribed form available at University Press, Osmania University, Hyderabad – 500 007.

The fellowships are limited for every year and financial assistance is provided subject to availability of funds & timely release of grants by the UGC, New Delhi.
[* The norm of Mutatis Mutandis at Department level can be applied and an
appropriate decision to be taken at Departmental Research Committee based on
Departmental Necessities, Interests and Priorities, while observing the reservation as
per the percentage applicability. Further ‘No Carry Forward Policy’ is adhered for in
respect of appointment of research scholars for award of time bound fellowships.]
Eligibility for Fellowships: Full Time Ph.D. Scholars registered with the University Faculty who haven’t completed 3 years of duration after registration (As on 01.12.2013) and not availing any financial assistance from any funding agency only are eligible to apply for award of UGC – Non-NET fellowship.
Age: As per UGC Norms for any other Fellowship’s
Nature of Assistance: Fellowship = Rs. 8,000/- p. m;
Contingency = As per Applicability / Annum
Tenure of Fellowship: 1 Year
Other Conditions of Fellowship:
No House Rent Allowance (HRA) is admissible for UGC-Non-NET fellowship holders as per the scheme regulations.
No appointments are made against resignation or termination or cancellation.
Cancellation of Fellowship: Fellowship is liable to cancellation in case of i) Misconduct, ii) Unsatisfactory Progress of Research Work and iii) Fellow is found ineligible later.
Duly filled Prescribed Application Form with relevant enclosures along with the Demand Draft of Rs. 100/- (Open Category) and Rs. 50/- (Reserved Category) (Non Refundable) of any nationalized bank drawn in favor of Registrar, Osmania University, Hyderabad should reach to The Head, Department of __________________ Osmania University, Hyderabad, 500 007 on or before____________________

Sub: Appointment of Project Fellow under the UPE Scheme – Reg.,

On the recommendations of the Selection Committee constituted for the purpose the sanction is hereby accorded with the approval of the Vice-chancellor for the appointment of ____________________________________________ as Non-NET Fellow under the UPE Scheme at a consolidated Pay of Rs. 8,000/- per Month.
The above selection is purely temporary and tenable for One year or until your registration lasts, whichever is the earliest. The appointment shall be specifically for the aforesaid period and you will not have any claim/right on any regular permanent post in the University.
All other terms and conditions of appointment shall be governed by the UPE Scheme of UGC, which has sanctioned the project as well as by the rules framed by the University in this regard from time to time.
The Appointee should adhere to the following conditions stipulated by the Departmental Research Committee.
1. He / She shall do full time research on approved topic of the Ph.D. work.
2. He / She should not accept any post and should not receive any stipend / fellowship from any other agency during the period of Fellowship.
3. If He / She wishes to relinquish the fellowship during the tenure or wishes to appear for any other examinations conducted by this or any other University/Institution, He / She should obtain prior permission.
4. The Leave Rules are similar to any other direct awardees of UGC.
5. The services will be liable to termination at any time without giving any notice or without assigning any reason subject to the satisfaction of the Supervisor or Head of the Department or University Administration.
In case the aforesaid offer is acceptable to you, you may please report for duty to the Head of the Department within 30 days from the date of issue of this letter.

I have read and fully understood all the rules and regulations governing the
UGC Non-NET Fellowship Scheme. I hereby agree to follow all such rules and
regulations framed by UGC-Non-NET at the time of award and sanctioning of
the support by UGC-Non-NET Fellowship.
I agree to submit three copies of the comprehensive report to be prepared by me
in a properly typed format at the expiry of Fellowship period.
I agree to prepare periodic reports for every six months and submit to the Non-
NET through Supervisor and the Head of the Department.
I agree to give due acknowledgement of the support provided to me for the
aforesaid Ph.D. study by the UGC-Non-NET in all publications, including
articles/papers etc., written by me.
I agree to refund the money released to me by the UGC-Non-NET in case I fail to
adhere the procedures of UGC-Non-NET Scheme or except for any unforeseen /
extraordinary circumstances brought to the notice of UGC-Non-NET in writing.
