Sunday Reflection

February 26, 2017

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he

will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon

(material wealth).” Matthew 6:24

For many people, God and money run “neck and neck” as their first priority. Making money and spending money becomes the center of their life and they actually become a slave to

money. The solution – become more generous. Giving money to Church and

charity frees us from slavery to money and from making money a “god” before God.

Mateo 6;24

ACTS Ministry and St. Vincent de Paul are collaborating with other area churches to provide food items monthly to those in need. Our parish is primarily responsible for 2lb bags of sugar and

dry beans of any kind, but we will gratefully accept any non-perishable food items you would like to donate. Please bring your non-perishable items to the church vestibule, or to the Budde Bldg. for collection. ACTS was founded by the churches in Tallassee as a one-stop clearing

house to assist people in time of need. Churches working together can do more to help than they

could do individually.

Pray for Seminarians, especially Jack Chambliss from our parish
