PARISH ADVENT RETREAT

Father Simeon Gallagher will be with us for a retreat this December 5 – 8. He will preach at the liturgies on December 3 and 4 and the Adult Retreat will be Monday – Wednesday at 7 PM and Thursday at 7:30 PM. Follow-ing the 8:30 AM Mass, a shorter version of the 7 PM evening presentation will be given. Come and bring a friend! I know that we have really enjoyed Father Gal-lagher in the past and that a large number of people have attended. ~ Father Steve Parish Advent Retreat Theme: “Living Fully: Franciscan Spirituality for Everyone” Today many people are searching for ways to connect their own everyday experience with the things they hear and read about ‘spirituality’. Often the kind of spiritual teaching they receive seems disconnected from everyday concerns. It might even seem that one needs to live in a special place, to use special techniques, and have the leisure not to worry about day-to-day work and family responsibilities in order to achieve a kind of ‘spiritual state’. The Franciscan tradition, with its emphasis on the Incarnation can provide an alternative view of spirituality, one rooted in the ordinary events of human life. The Par-ish Retreat will identify four insights from Franciscan spir-ituality and connect them to the business of living fully.

TREE OF LIFE Great Christmas Gift

Here at St. Theodore’s we are fortunate to have a brass “Tree of Life” adorning the entryway of our church. The leaves are a beautiful way of remembering those we love. They can be “In Memory of,” “In Honor of,” “In Gratitude for” or you can commemorate a specific date like Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, a wedding, anniversary or birth of a child. You can remember a single person, a couple or a family. Please remember that the more names you have, the smaller the lettering will appear. The limit is four lines.

The Tree of Life is slowly filling up. If you are interested in purchasing a leaf, please fill out the form and return to the

parish office with payment of $200 (cash or check).

If you are interested please contact Suzy Cortellini at 259-8341 and she will gladly help you or just fill out the attached

form and return it to the Parish Office.

FOOD CUPBOARD CHRISTMAS ANGELS

We still have paper angels in the bas-kets at the entrances of church. We are hoping you can help us provide some Christmas cheer with our “Back to Basics” theme for our monthly Food Cupboard families. Items are due back in on Monday, December 12…(absolutely no later than Wednesday, December 14)! Please...be an angel and take an extra angel. Don’t Forget: There is a special box set up on the Food

Cupboard table to the right of the main entrance to church

for gift cards and postage stamps so they don’t get lost in

the bags and boxes with the larger items. Again, please

attach the angel somehow to the items so we can match

them up to the proper person. Our families are so appre-

ciative of all you do.
