The Adult Bible Study Class will be beginning a new 6 week course in January 2020 by Scott Hahn called The Eucharist in Scripture. This course includes dynamic video presentations by Dr.
Scott Hahn and will cover information presented in three of his books: The Lamb Supper, The Fourth Cup, and Consuming the World.
Come and discover the biblical foundations of the Eucharist and grow in knowledge and the riches of our Catholic faith.

RCIA is underway and we would love to have you join us! This week in RCIA we will learn about the Sacrament of Confirmation. We will learn why we have
the Sacrament, what it means, why it's important, how it relates to the Sacrament of Baptism, and how the Holy Spirit works through the Sacrament of Confirmation to strengthen us in our faith. We meet on Tuesday evenings at 6:45 pm in the church parlor. It's free, childcare is provided, we have a lot of fun as we learn our wonderful Catholic faith, and we always have something good to eat. RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and it’s a journey of exploration and initiation into the Catholic Church. RCIA is a fun, safe, faith-building discovery of Jesus Christ and the Church He started. RCIA will change your life. It will bring you closer to Jesus. Is God calling you? Helping Hands of Midland 1301 Brinson Lane

We received a call from an apartment manager who was irate that one of his tenants had been calling Helping Hands for a week and we had not responded. What kind of an organization are we that claim to help so many but don’t? If we weren’t going to help her why didn’t we at least have the courtesy of calling her back and telling her that we would not help? Just what in the heck do we do all day long? We patiently explain to this man that we receive 50-100 calls on our helpline each day. The message on our helpline states that “we do not return phone calls, so if you do not hear from us in a day or two, please try again.” The only people we will decline at this stage are those we consider “habitual” and those who have outwardly abused the system in the past through deception and false pretenses or those who have failed to leave all of the information we asked for. We will help clients only one time in a 12-month period unless extenuating circumstances prevail (usually always medical). At the interview level, we will not help those who we feel are trying to get a free ride off of us – if someone proves to have an income sufficient to pay his/her bills and cannot come up with a justifiable reason for not having the money to pay their electricity, they will be declined. Because of the large number of calls we receive, we opt to help those clients who are either evicted, have lock-out notices, or have eviction notices. Again they must have a justifiable reason for not being able to pay their rent. A person who calls our helpline saying only that they need help with rent and utilities will probably not receive a call back. That’s because we are inundated with calls from people who are locked out or are in danger of losing their apartment. We must respond to the greatest need. We hope that apartment manager will understand.
Thank You, Lucas Lucero! Last Saturday Lucas was generous to donate his time and his skip loader to level out the back yard at Helping Hands. Due to rain and heavy traffic the yard had gotten pretty rutted and uneven. That he donated time out of his busy schedule to help us out is much, much appreciated. Thank you, Lucas!
