WORDS FROM THE PASTOR

C-CAAL BENEFIT

I believe in miracles, but not for the reasons you may think. It is a celebration

that we received $32,000 on our “miracle Sunday.” It is a celebration that more

is still coming in. It is a celebration that we received $21,000 for Sunday’s of-

fering. But the miracle is what I see in the attitude of the givers. People are

being blessed through their generosity. People are expressing the joy of giving.

The miracle is the excitement I witness in our ministry as we reflect on the past

and look forward to the future. The miracle is the ministry this church has done

and will continue to do in spite of financial stress.

“Miracle Sunday” definitely eased the stress about finances, but let’s not get complacent and smug

about what we have done. The true miracle is always

about what God is doing and will continue to do in and

through us. All things are indeed possible with God.

Let’s remember the joy that comes in trusting God with

our future. Let’s remember the joy that comes as that

trust enables us to give generously. Let’s remember

the joy that comes in serving.

Yes, I believe in miracles because I see them all

around as we become the people and the church God

calls us to be. God is good , all the time! All the time,

God is good!

Those who attended the C-CAAL

(Christian Cultural Awareness and

Assistance League) benefit at our

church enjoyed a traditional African

meal, celebrated the work of C-

CAAL, were blessed by a presen-

tation by Dr. Pamela Hendricks

and were entertained by Ingoma

Planet, a Burundian drum group.

Thanks to Christian and Phoebe

Wabara for bringing this event to

us. We are blessed by the ministry

of Phoebe and Christian. Christian & Pheobe

Choir Dedication Sunday

New Comers’ Fellowship at 4 pm (FH)

“...Freely you have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:8 I am humbled by the amazing beautiful way God blesses us. St. Philip’s raised $630 to His honor and we were able to purchase the following animals through the Heifer Project this year: 1 Llama, 1 Goat, 1 Sheep, 1 Pig, 5 Flocks of Chicks (10 chicks in a flock) and 1 flock of Geese! When you throw the stone of love out into the world, it creates a huge ripple! Mission Team Dear Friends, My words seem so inadequate when trying to express how much your cards, calls, gifts and visits have meant to me. You have been so caring and thoughtful. I appreciate all you do, and have done. There have been some very difficult times that I have weathered with the grace of God and your support. Again thank you all so very much. Sincerely, Wanda Rheinlander To My Church Family, The tornado was so thrilled to be church last Sunday, I was having severe withdrawl pains not being able to worship with my church family. Incidentally, the tornado has been downsized a little, but she is still moving forward with each day and hopes to return. Your caring ministry really flooded my heart with thankfulness and love, for all prayers, visits, gifts, flow-ers and food you provided for Louis and me. MY CUP TRULY RUNNETH OVER. I PRAISE God from whom all bless-ings flow abundantly from my family of St. Philip’s members. Francelle Ward
