As you read this edition of our bulletin I am at the Steubenville North Conference with 25 youth and 4 other adults from our parish family. From Friday the 24th through Sunday the 26th we will be basking in God's love. We will be listening to speakers, singing praise and worship music, celebrating Mass, sharing time in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and praising God with around 2,500 youth from the Midwest and Canada. The conference happens each summer on the campus of St. Thomas University. RCIA and Beyond! Do you want to know more about the Catholic Church? Do you want to know more about the teachings of the Catholic Church? Are you interested in becoming a member of the Catholic Church? I pray that your summer has been as blessed as mine has been so far. Marlene and I were able to enjoy a week away together on vacation, we also were blessed to be able to share a weekend with our children and some time with our extended families. I have also been able to golf on five different golf courses this summer which I really enjoy. God has blessed me and I am very grateful!

Movie time will begin at dusk (9:45ish) and will be viewed outdoors on the St. Philip’s playground. In case of rain, we will cancel the movie. Bring the family or friend and enjoy a night at the movies!

EMMAUS NIGHT

Fr. Don will be offering Emmaus Thursday night, July 30. Many of you have experienced these evenings which begin at 6:30 PM in the Social Hall as we study the readings from the Bible which will be at Mass the following Sunday. At 7:15 PM we then move into the church for adoration of the Eucharist until 8 PM. The nights are geared toward adults but teens are also welcome! You don’t need to know a thing about the Bible OR what “adoration of the Eucharist” means…just experience the night!

TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES

St. Philip’s School has openings for a physical education, an elementary, and a pre-kindergarten teacher. HAPPY 75TH ANNIVERSARY!

St. Charles Catholic Church in Pennington is celebrating their 75th Anniversary on Saturday, August 1, with Mass at 4 PM, presided by Bishop Hoeppner.

20th Annual Marriage Celebration Day

The Diocese of Crookston will celebrate its 20th Annual Marriage Celebration Day on Sunday, October 4th, 2015 at 2:30 PM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The celebration will begin with Mass celebrated by Bishop Michael J. Hoeppner. There will be a reception following Mass. In honor of the 8th World Meeting of Families taking place from September 22-28, 2015 in Philadelphia, PA this year’s Marriage Celebration Day will be themed “Love is Our Mission.” Sacred Music will be provided by members of the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center. A response is requested by September 14th to the Office of the New Evangelization at (218) 281-4533, ext. 425.

SOUND SYSTEM UPGRADE INSTALLATION

You will notice that our sound system upgrade has begun, and portions of the changes are already in place. We will have the final portions of the new sound system, including new speakers, installed by in the near future, and sound treatments for the choir area by mid-August. Thank you for your patience as we work through this installation in the sanctuary.
