LISTEN UP! FOR 16-25 YEAR OLDS: St James’ Priory, Bristol has been booked for Saturday 10th May from 11am to 5pm for a special diocesan Vocation’s conference for young people called ‘ListenUP! It is being run by our Vocations Ministry. Following on from Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to young people at Twickenham in 2010, the question being asked is his very own – “What kind of person would you really like to be?” The main speaker is Fr Christopher Jamison, the Benedictine monk, TV presenter, author and wonderful communicator. There will be opportunities for praise and worship; workshops and testimonies. All food and drink is provided. We have the whole premises to ourselves! This is a great opportunity to grapple with important questions about who God calls us to be and how we can best serve the Church – all in a fun and faith-filled environment. If you would like more information, please contact Fr Matt Anscombe. [email protected] Under 18s will require parental consent and Fr Matt can provide a consent form. ‘GHOST’ WALK: Arranged by the Friends of St Peter’s on Thursday 24th April at 7.00pm, meet at the back of Sainsburys. See noticeboard for details. AND FINALLY: The Resurrection of Jesus is not the happy ending to a nice story, it is not the “happy end” of a film; rather, it is God the Father’s intervention there where human hope is shattered. At the moment when all seems to be lost, at the moment of suffering, when many people feel the need to get down from the Cross, it is the moment closest to the Resurrection. Night becomes darkest precisely before morning dawns, before the light dawns. In the darkest moment God intervenes and raises.. Pope Francis at General Audience April 16th.

Next Sunday – 2nd Easter Sunday

Acts 2:42-47. 1Peter 1:3-9. John 20:19-31.

Vocation Matters- 20th April – Easter Sunday “He saw and he believed” Are you a half glass empty or a half glass full person? It seems that Mary of Magdala is the former and John the latter in the Gospel of the Resurrection. Well, it’s obviously not quite that simple. The gift of faith is imparted in different ways to different people. John’s belief is incredible though. His conviction is solid. He saw and he believed. There are those today who would seek to debunk the objective reality of the Resurrection; so-called myth-busters. However, if you want to follow Jesus and know how He is calling you to serve, that’s a no-brainer! He is truly risen. Jesus is alive! Happy Easter!
