The Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me; Body of Christ, save me;
Blood of Christ, inebriate me; Water from the side of Christ, wash me;
Passion of Christ, strengthen me; O good Jesus hear me;
Within your wounds hide me; separated from you, let me never be;
From the evil one protect me; At the hour of my death, call me;
And close to you bid me; That with your saints, I may be praising you forever and ever.
At one time, this day was called Corpus Christi, the Lat-in words for “the Body of Christ.” In the most recent re-vision of our liturgical rites, the name for this day is ex-panded to be a more complete reflection of our Eucharis-tic theology.
The Gospel for today reminds us that the Eucharist is a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. We believe that Jesus is truly present to us in the elements of bread and wine. Each time we celebrate this sacrament, we pre-pare for the Kingdom of God. This celebration, as the Second Vatican Council taught us, is the source and sum-mit of the Christian life.
THE SANCTUARY CANDLE this week is in memory of
Hannah Westbrook Dabrowski

Respect for Life
“Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them and they all drank from it.” – MARK 14:23
Jesus, the perfect steward, gave thanks, just before He gave Himself to us completely for our salvation. He of-fers us the chance to drink from His cup. In the Eucha-rist, we meet Christ personally and, if we listen to Him, we know what drinking from His cup means our own sacrifice – giving up some of our time, talent and treasure to do His work on earth.

Oppose Assisted Suicide On Monday, March 12, the Assembly Judiciary Com-mi ee released the Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act (A1504). The bill will now be voted on by the General Assembly. The bill would allow physicians to prescribe drugs to end the lives of terminally ill individuals consid-ered to have six months to live.
The facts are clear - in California, in Vermont and in Ore-gon - states that have passed assisted suicide bills - in-surance companies have denied individuals expensive healthcare coverage but offered them low cost drugs to end their life.
In an era of cost control and managed care, pa ents with lingering illnesses may be branded as a financial liability for the insurance company, and decisions to en-courage death could be driven by reducing costs.
Please contact your state legislators and tell them that you oppose A1504/S1072.

The son of evangelist Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, recently expressed his outrage at a series of pro-abortion billboards in Ohio that describe abortion as “sacred” and a “blessing.” Gra-ham writes, “God says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good and good evil,’ That’s exactly what an abortion business in Ohio is doing.” He described the billboards as “lies” and urged people to “wake up” to the destruction that abortion causes. The abor-tion clinic that put up the billboards “wants to push people to start thinking of abortion in new, diverse ways.” LifeNews.com 1/4/18
