Do not be afraid – I will save you. I have called you by name – you are mine.

When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; Your troubles will not overwhelm you. (Isaiah 43)

Our loving heavenly Father, thank you for all the promises contained within your word. May we believe them and accept them as we journey in our lives of faith. Father God, as we continue to live through these ‘unprecedented’ days, give to each of us obedience, wisdom and compassion.

Father, we commit again into your care all those who are feeling strained and stressed at this time. We remember those who are living in isolation, and those who already have a vulnerable health condition. We pray for those who may be feeling the effects of financial constraints, for those whose jobs have gone or are under threat. We ask that you bring peace and hope into each of these difficult situations.

We pray for our country Lord, with the continuing growth in the cases of Covid-19 around the country; we pray especially for our front line workers, particular-ly the NHS and key services. Give to them times of unspeakable joy in the midst of the sometimes difficult work situations they find themselves in.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will

strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41 v 10)

Amen

Prayer By Steve Walsh on behalf of St. Andrews (Hope Centre)

Passion Bolton 2030 Group We are aware that the last 6 months have affected us all differently. Some people’s working and home life has become much more demanding and exhausting! However, for others there has been more space and time as our usual church and family activities have reduced or stopped. Do you have time to spare and wonder how you can get involved in serving God in our community and town? Our vision at St. Peter’s is ‘Transforming Bolton together in Jesus’ name’. The Passion Bolton 2030 group is a town-wide Christian forum of key leaders who have looked carefully at the needs in our town and identified key opportunities you can get involved with,

a few of which are listed below with contact details. Is there something here you would like to be a part of?

Donate essential items – food, toiletries, clothes, any old, working, smartphone, tablet or laptop to help them to stay connected. Volunteer at a centrally organised event for asylum seekers and refugees eg. supermarket collection days: www.brassbolton.org.uk

Organise outdoor activities (in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions) that will bring us together and help us to appreciate our environ-ment safely: litter picks, dog walks in groups, guided walks, prayer walks etc. Green Umbrella can help with funding for litter picking equip-ment: www.boltongreenumbrella.org.uk )
